If the Bible were removed it would only be replaced by another book from another formalized religion sparking controversy. If not the Bible, there's the Koran, or writings of Scientology for example? As the Bible is touted to be based on historical first hand accounts, I would hate to see it disappear if for no other reason than potential history being lost. Right or wrong, it gives us something to study and prove or disprove.
