Help answer this question below.
Our client, a few years back, decided that aside from their employees, all contractors had to conform to their drug-free policy. We ended up losing 3 employees from our office. A couple of them tried some of those old-wives tales about special shampoos, etc. to conceal the evidence (they were both much older than I am, too). My partner told me about a friend who works for a company that does random testing, but refuses to quit smoking weed...she just figures, oh well...I'll just find another job!
It's pretty sad that people still can't get their acts together and quit using. Not just because it could endanger their career, but also endanger their lives.
There is no "beating the system." Get help to quit, or end up getting fired!

You're reading Do you get tired of questions about beating drug testing? Like "I have to be tested tomorrow--what do I do"...(Maybe stop doing drugs) (Or realize you have a problem if you can't stop for a few days/weeks). It all seems to be about beating the system.

I do have one other issue, though. If someone is not high or drunk at work, they show up on time and get the job done, and maybe they get a little wasted on the weekends...on their own time...away from work, I don't really see what the problem is with their employers. Sure, if they have a serious problem, they need to seek help. But, if it has no bearing on how they do their job, it really shouldn't be their employer's business what they do on their own time. One of the folks that I mentioned that got fired, however, didn't just get wasted at home on her own time. She toked it up on her lunch hour and came back to the office baked. It was pretty obvious...you could smell it a mile away. BUT...she was not a very pleasant person when she was NOT baked. She was definately the exception to the rule. She needed a little mellowing out for her to be bearable to work with. Oh well!
