My Action Replay MAX is not working for my PS2, it is saying either disc read error or please insert disc. What can I do to fix this problem?

Is the disk spinning? if not then its the motor. But if the disk is spinning then its the laser.Check the disk for mini holes. or a dirty disk if all the above doesn't work then Take Armax and send it back. Or go with a codebreaker. (ARMAX was not friendly with my memory card.) And killed My ps2 so be careful.

Are action replay codes permanent? If I save my game after using one, will it still be there? I used a health cheat on pokemon and I don't want to save if I know it's going to be permanent.
