You're reading Do you know who sang the song that has these lyrics: baby, baby don't get hooked on me. I'll just use you then set you free. baby, baby don't get hooked on me. The singer is a male and I believe it was sung in the 1970's.

Rascal Flatts is a current country group. They merely covered the ORIGINAL song written by Mac Davis, for whom it was a HUGE record and not restricted to Country...it was a mainstream hit. The writer wanted the original from the early 70's, as others have provided the info. Mac Davis' song still stands as one of the all-time great 70's hits. Any artist or group can cover a song years later, but please...always give the credit to the original singer/songwriter, especially one who made the song what it was. :)
