Why does everyone seem to be so depressed? What do we have to complain about? What do I have to complain about?

    my economics professor made a very intense study on the topic hapiness/tv and found out, that happiness is determined relatively: if you are a material person, you'll be happy if people around you are poorer then you / if you are an esthet, you'll be happy, if people around you are uglier then you, etc. the absolute value of wealth or beauty doesn't matter. tv makes people unhappy, because that ay they compare themselfes to very rich, very beautiful people

    this is just one aspect, of course
