What is the form of animation called in which they draw the cartoon over a real person? - I just know it as creepy.

    The technique of drawing over film is called rotoscoping, I'm not sure if their is a specific animation name for films like A Scanner Darkly or Waking Life. Rotoscoping is the general name for pretty much adding in any type of drawing frame by frame to live action video.
