To the one who rated me a -5..I wonder if you would feel this way if someone took the life of someone you love...or a helpless child. I remember hearing of a couple who left their 3 year old daughter with a trusted friend. He raped her and threw her off a bridge while she was still alive to be suffocated in the mud of the river below. Yeah...this person "deserves" all the compassion we can muster. People actually protested his execution.

Why are people so blind. Your comment is on the mark! Maybe if these candle-holding, bleeding hearts were faced with a serial killer about to torture and murder them they would feel differently.

That's my thought, too. I guess the idea dates back before the "Code of Hammurabi" that if you do something to harm someone, the government should do the same harm to you. Of course, this code is from something like 1700 BC, so people were a little more barbaric back then.
