You're reading We just adopted JesseJames and are wondering what breed(s) he might be? <see photo in answer>

He looks like he may have some hound dog in him, or perhaps some mastiff.

Shelter said part Mastiff-He is veeeeerrrrrrry long and tall. Not muscular but 100 lbs. or so solid. I should know I tried to put him in tub, lol!
by UnchanedMelody on November 15th, 2007
Hahahahaha He looks like he's a great addition to your family.

I see pit bull there, also, just from my shelter experience, but who knows? I could be wrong. And just FYI, pit bulls can be perfectly wonderful dogs. They just have a bad rep because of bad people. He's beautiful, regardless, and I hope you are happy with him. He looks to be a nice dog. I've had a few 'mutts' in my time. When people would ask me what kind of dog it was, my answer would be, "All kinds!" ;-)

I love mutts. That's what I have. She is mostly rat terrier but there are other mixes in her as well. She's a great dog.

All dogs is great dogs, Id! ;-) You may find it surprising to find that I'm a 'cat' person. I love dogs, but cats fit our lifestyle better. I've had both my whole life though, and there is nothing like a dog to provide you with pure, unselfish love.

I love cats too. I love animals in general. I have a cat too. My cat, has a cat. LOL.

I just had another thought on this...he could have Grayhound in him as well..that would account for the long,lanky body and the long tail, plus the (what appears to be) slightly narrow jaw line/head and those ears...do they ever go up? (Grayhounds also come in brindle as well!) With regards to the "narrow" his head looks more narrow in one shot here than the other...so I'm thinking of it in proportion to his over all size.
by Redhawk on November 17th, 2007
Yeah, I definitely see some hound in him.

Idne! nice to "see" you...I hope things have been going better for you lately.
by Redhawk on November 17th, 2007
Yes, they have. I'd like to e-mail you, if that's ok.

Greyhound is very good guess, also! I can see that.
by Taylor on November 17th, 2007
@Idne...you are welcome anytime!
