I love the study of magic, because it gives great insight to man's desire to understand the world around him.
Think of the incredible logic of associative magic. Without even knowing about DNA, early man recons that if you possesses enough essence of an animal you will gain traits of the animal. It’s brilliant! Even now, scientists study the cell changes of other creatures in hope it will give clues for cure in men.
Anyway, I’m sorry if you just wanted to know if warlocks could change into wolves. I’ve never met one that can do anything “ in the open”. It mostly seems like a power game used to control others by their fear.
But LIFE! Ah, there is the real magic.
