Why do men only think about sex all day?

Every guy I've ever talked to only wanted to talk about sex with me. No, I do not dress like a hooker or anything. But they've even said guys like about sex every 2 seconds of the day.

Is that seriously true?

It's not true, but men are very visual creatures and the younger men (under 25) have not learned to control where their visual impulses lead.

You may not dress like a hooker, but that is not needed. A glimpse of what you're trying to cover or whatever else is the guy's personal turn-on is enough to derail the conversation to sex topics.

For example, if he sees a bit of cleavage and is particularly attracted to breasts, that glimpse is like a shock to the system. It bypasses whatever controls he may have (and not learned to manage) and activates the pleasure center of his brain. Having had that little jolt, he WILL seek to get it again. It may start as trying to look down your top again or he may crudely try to go for the gold medal and start talking sex in the mistaken belief that it will excite you (after all, talking about sex gets HIM excited, gets his male buddies excited...it MUST get woman excited!).

    • I suppose. Women can get very excited by attractive men as well.

    • But the response time is glacially slow by comparison. Women who have used testosterone therapy for sexs drive loss treatment report that they finally understand why their men react the way they do when that steroid is hitting their bodies. They feel the same immediate jolt of excitement to the smallest sexual stimulous.

    • Oh really? Wow. I guess guys are like sex-maniacs or something.

      Jasumi

by Jasumi on September 5th, 2007

    • You consider them sex maniacs because you do not share the same response and arousal mechanism they do. In general, women require more emotional stimulation to acheive a given level of desire than men. It is not something either gender CHOOSES, it's part of the fundamental difference between men and women. Try thinking about this analogy: Many women get pleasure from shopping, which leaves many men cold. Men think that women are shop-a-holics. Is that a fair label to slap on her?

by CannedHam on September 5th, 2007

    • What? We don't require any "emotional" stimulation to get horny. lol. But if you want to see women that way, I suggest you rethink that. Most women do enjoy watching porn, we do get aroused by seeing nudity, and we do enjoy sex. Just as much as men do.

      Jasumi

by Jasumi on September 8th, 2007

    • Never said otherwise. However, generally speaking, women do not experience visual stimulation to the same extent that men do.

      CannedHam

by CannedHam on September 8th, 2007

    • That's a stereotype propogated by social limitations on women. If a woman shows any interest in sex, people will be quick to assume she is a "whore" or a "slut." So in order to curve that, many women state that they only want sex if they're in a relationship or in love. Then the nasty remarks go away. But personnally, I have never met a woman who didn't become aroused by visual stimulation.

by Jasumi on September 9th, 2007

    • And I never said that they do not become aroused visually, just that men get there much faster.

      CannedHam

by CannedHam on September 9th, 2007

    • Not true, again. lol. Women can become physically aroused in only a few seconds. Some women can even have orgasms just from thinking about sex!

      Jasumi

by Jasumi on September 29th, 2007

    • Jasumi is right! And I am proof! Men just want to be better at everything especially sex. The truth is women and men are the same! Both get visually stimulated and just as fast.

    • Blondie, seriously men and women are the same? You seem to dislike men. They do not want to be better, they just are different.

      whiskeyslick

by whiskeyslick on April 26th, 2009

    • Yes we are the same in many ways. We get visually stimulated[how would a man know what we get aroused by anyway].And we have high sex drives. It is not by gender but by person. There are men with low sex drives just like there are women with low sex drives!

      blondie44

      by blondie44 on April 26th, 2009

    • Blondie, you make the mistake of taking your personal experience and extrapolating the results to the general population. Medical and psycholgical research covering decades shows that there is a difference between the general male and general female sexual response and triggering mechanisms and that research shows that men are more visual and women are more emotional. End of story. Thanks for playing. Don Pardo has some lovely parting gifts for you.

by CannedHam on April 26th, 2009

    • You are wrong! I am a woman and I should know! Also recent studies from now that women are more equal and don't have to follow rules like not to masturbate ect.. prove that women get stimulated visually too. When looking at porn women got aroused faster than men. We have as many womens porn sites as mens to satisfy our visual needs!! 90% of women said they oggle at nude men and want to see more in mainstream movies! Don't look at the past surveys from when women weren't allowed to masturbate, enjoy breastfeeding or be visual because men felt it was only for them. And men did the surveys and didn't want to make women the same. You should know these facts!!

    • Ah. The old "male bias to keep the woman in her place" theory. Let me know how that works out for you.

    • Blondie44 is honest and I think she is truthful in her assertions. Why can't people lay off her. She is entitled to her views!

      Wizzer

by Wizzer on April 29th, 2009

    • She is entitled to her views but because you agree with her you say she is "truthful" and that is the issue. If you ladies want to watch porn, nasturbate, or whatever, knock yourself out. Why do you feel you need to tell everyone else that everyone is doing it? What does that do?

      whiskeyslick

by whiskeyslick on April 29th, 2009

    • For a start I am a MAN. And the issue to start with was sex. Someone said that women don't think that way, Blondie44 disagreed. So I think she is not telling everyone her sex life, just stating her oppinion that is all!

      Wizzer

by Wizzer on April 29th, 2009

    • According to her, her opinion is the truth. I am talking about facts, and the facts are that men have more testosterone than women. In case you don't know that is the hormone that triggers a sex drive. What do you all have to say now? Women have a higher sex drive? Remember we are talking about women and men as a whole, of course individuals can vary. Facts and science show that her opinion holds no water for women as a group. At the same time, I would say we need more women like her.

    • Whiskeyslick. where can I get some of that testosterone???? ;-)

      ANONYMOUS

by ANONYMOUS on August 10th, 2009

    • Birth control pills are causing some women to have a low sex drives and painfull sex. We do not need testosterone that only makes one more aggressive. We have sex hormones and we have sex drives that are high and yes just as strong and even stronger than a man's!! Also studies were done where the amount of testosterone in a woman may be less than a man but it works stronger in a woman so giving her more will make her more aggressive than a man!

Blondie, one thing about you is that you are relentless. But, that said, we need more women like you in this world.

      whiskeyslick

by whiskeyslick on August 11th, 2009

    • Dani, You don't need testosterone. You need to look at testosterone. Go to Playgirl.com Whiskey the facts you talk about were made up by sexist men. The facts I am talking about were studies done recently and women were involved. Many studies from years ago were all wrong because of sexist attitudes.

@Blondie, I'm just having a little fun. I'm really not looking for testosterone. Have enough...

    • Grow up, Studies are not worth listening to when they contradict eachother. For example Gay women are visual but straight women are not? How does that work? Most men don't care because they are ignorant of what's going on, Social engineering for example, so if you little children whant to act like grown ups I suggest you start doing a little research!

      Wizzer

by Wizzer on August 14th, 2009

    • Hey! Wizzer! I'll let you in on a secret Straight women are visual not gay women. You are right! Studies are all wrong and not good to take seriously because many sexist studies were done for years and many studies done with sexist attitudes. Common sense and your own study is more accurate!

    • I know they need to become more inquisitive!

      Wizzer

by Wizzer on August 14th, 2009

    • I don't think blondie or any of the other women in this topic hate men. They just get very frustrated when men try to tell them how they feel, when they can't possibly know. And the more women try and inform them otherwise, the more they are accused of being 'man haters'.

Women think and get aroused all the time, its just that women don't tent their pants so its not as obvious ;)
I think about it all the time and I don't really care if men say I don't because of a study (that is affected by social steotypes) would say to the contrary, and I cannot accept that I am in the minority, I'm just truthful :D
