Do you need an instructor or coach to become a great skateboarder?

    The simple answer is NO. The only things that you need to become a seccsessful skateboarder is a skateboard and a helmet. All you have to do is practice. For a begginer, first find the stance that is the most comfortable for you (goofy or regular) then slowly (with your helmet on) try to push off with your rear foot to create a forward motion. The sterring on a skateboard is simple, just lean the way that you want to go. Besides the only way that you can become as good as Tony Hawk or other professionals, is PRACTICE!
