Why are illegal drugs illegal?

    Because they are deadly, in many different ways. For instance, not only do they pose a threat to the user, but to people AROUND the user. There is a greater risk of car accidents or other dangerous actions or behaviors.

    • it's not only alcohol that can cause car accidents... tons of people have been killed by people under the influence of marijuana and various other drugs that have an effect on coordination and reasoning. if thats what you mean by "alcoholism?".

    • I mean the fact that every reason you described on there pertains to alcholism. Either make it illegal too, or make drugs legal. We can all guess the obvious, that we'd be illegalizing alchol again, but that didn't work. How does alchol not work, but drugs do? Yea there's going to be bootleggers, but we still have them today with drugs. They need to tuffen up consequences for bootlegging. That was the 20's, who says we can't try it in the 22nd century?
