Question

Help answer this question below.

Have you noticed that people whose second language is English pretend they can't speak it very well when it's convenient for them?

Yes, yes, racist this, racist that. Now that's out the way, could you perhaps answer the question?

I ask this because I work with a few foreigners who tend to speak English pretty well, but as soon as it's convenient, they all-of-a-sudden lose the ability to speak English properly, usually when caught on a wrongdoing.

Have you experienced this?

Another quick question, would English speakers use the same tactic if they worked in a non-English speaking country?

Usually doesn't work, they start wanting to talk when they realize that I'm fluent in Spanish as well. I lived in Puerto Rico for half my childhood!

Well, I don't use that tact because most countries I've been to speak Spanish or my other language, French... :)
