You're reading A ten foot long board is cut into three pieces. The second piece is half as long as the first. The third piece is 41/2 feet longer then the second. How long is the first piece?

2 1/5 is wrong.
2.2 + 1.1 + 5.6 = 8.9.
The answer I gave is correct.
