Would you want to live if you had experienced an accident that left you with a thirty second memory span?

    I doubt that anyone would be able to, first of all, *believe* that they've had an accident that has damaged their memory so severely that they will only be able to remember thirty seconds worth before they forget it.
    And even if they manage to somehow wrap their brains around that before they lose their memory again, they still have to decide whether or not it's worth living with that condition? I don't know of anyone of sane mind who can make the decision if they want to live or die in thirty seconds or less.
    To top it all off, if they do decide to kill themselves, they'd need to have something (loaded gun, noose, pills to O.D. on, etc) ready and waiting.

    BACK TO THE ORIGINAL QUESTION:
    My personal feeling is that living with thirty seconds of memory capacity is better than not living at all. Plus, some people have regained the full function of their memory after their injuries (brain) have healed.
