Chill out and stop being so 'exact'

Actually, I am quite "chill". You don't have to like my answer. It happens to be the truth. Rapping is speech, not singing. Did you happen to notice I did not say it was bad, just that it is not singing?

Songs do not require singing. Is 'So What' not a song because there is no singing?

Man dont know what music really is

Rapping is no less musical than drumming. And there's a lot of music that's made up of drumming alone out there, too. Get over your stupid (and utterly wrong) ideas of what music "ought to be."

well said.

Rapping is too SINGING!!!! ALL music is singing. Rapping isnt speech as you put it, speech is NORMAL talking or speaking. Rapping on the other hand requires to keep in sync with the music or beats like all forms of music.

I hate ignorant comments like this. Rappers do sing, especially in their hooks. And don't take me for some idiot that only listens to rap and therefore thinks it's a song. I know it is cuz I've actually put in a rap CD and opened my ears. I listen to everything from heavy metal, rap, pop, etc. It's all songs, they just come in different types. Would you consider an As I Lay Dying song as "not a song" because they scream in the majority of their music? Don't be so closed minded.

I agree with what you said OneLove! :)

Music can't be defined, you're statement is basically saying "I'm God and I say that Rap isn't "music". Music is defined by each and every one of us, not by just one person. So if you have some sort of dictionary that has a definition of Music, then send the publisher a letter and win some money...
