Why is it that most people in Northern USA like food with less seasoning compared to those in Southern USA?

    When I asked about "American" foods in other countries, I got a lot of replies that said Americans require food with less spices, and their food isn't well accepted in other countries because of that.

    I believe that the Southern food is heavily influenced by recipes from other countries. For instance, the Cajun influence is very French. Also, more spices grow naturally in the South than in the North.
