I have memories of green ketchup and purple ketchup from when I was younger and I find both colours for ketchup disgusting. Do adults these days even know how to market properly to children?

For toys yes, but to parents, no. What parent in their right mind would think that purple or green ketchup would make kids eat their dinner? If you want kids to eat their dinner, serve it w/ a side of candy or something sweet (not dessert!) & say that they can't eat it until everything else is gone...it worked for my kids.
