There's an old wives' tale that if your palm itches, it means that you will receive money. In Puerto Rico, whenever that happened, we were told to not scratch your palm, but close it and tuck your hand in your bosom (as if putting money in your bra like grandma used to do!) It's weird, but I always did/still do it.
