  • You're right. I can't see any reason why they would do that, but doctors that typically prescribe those drugs often prescribe drugs people don't need. At least that's what happened in my case.
  • It says on the Zoloft website that it is for both anxiety and depression: http://www.zoloft.com/content/index_anonymous_user.jsp?setShowOn=../content/index.jsp&setShowHighlightOn=../content/index.jsp In my case it had a terrible adverse reaction: It took my sexuality away. I was like a little kid for a few weeks.....My Dr. switched to Wellbutrin XL and everything went back to normal....Thanks God!
  • Zoloft is actually used to treat not only depression, but also OCD, panic disorders, and social anxiety. It works by not allowing your body to absorb as much of the serotonin that's produced in the body (increasing the amount of serotonin). When someone has high levels of serotonin, they tend to be happier and more mellow.
  • Anxiety and depression are linked. Almost like the chicken and the egg question.
  • cause it probably helps with that too
