  • Yes. And Yes I know it is bad bad bad.
  • Yep. And having people point such out to me does not make me want to quit any more or less. I have to want to quit and I am not there yet. . .yet. Soon though. Not trying to be rude or mean, but it's cigarettes :)
  • I sure do.
  • yes, I do.
  • Yes...that thought actually makes it more enjoyable. I can take a risk without even leaving the house!
  • No, but you should know the data on the number of persons is by sex, age group (18--34 years, 35--49 years, 50--64 years, and >65 years), and race (white or other race) for each state and the District of Columbia were obtained from the 2000 U.S. Census. National estimates of the prevalence of ****current, former, and never smokers***** were derived from the combined data from the 1999, 2000, and 2001 BRFSS surveys. So your number is inaccurate for only smokers. It also does not include anyone under the age of 18..
  • Yes, many more people die from drugs....they are both addictions.
  • back when i quit, i was waiting for college to begin, staying in bed, reading, writing, smoking cigs, and drinking coffee - in the south and in the summer and without AC. i got SOOOO sick!!! i crawled under the sheets for 3 days. when i came out, i was de-toxed and never felt a need to smoke again. i changed for a couple of years, the people, places, and things that i associated with cigs. 20 years later, i'm grateful. i know today that there are many medicines and programs for smoking cessation so folks can get lots of help and not have to do it alone.
  • Yes, and that's my business. I don't have children, and I don't typically smoke around people that object to it. The way I see it, I could die tomorrow from getting hit by a bus, or I could live another 50 years as a smoker without any serious health concerns. Most likely, the truth will prove out somewhere in between, but what I do with my own body is my concern. :)
  • will never smoke habitually. i'm too pretty for that.
  • No I used to be a chain smoker but I stopped smoking my four packs a day when I came back to England this time.
  • I quit a time ago for a different reason. Everyone has the right to smoke if they wish. Besides, I drive a car, and drive a truck for a living, and know many, many die every month from that activity, also. Think about it this way -- someone else smoking doesn't hurt you in the least.
  • yes... i am expecting one day to have a cigarette blow up in my face and give me a heart attack... only because i believe in karma, as a child i took one of those rolls of play gun caps, the ones that look like little dark red dots on a red roll of paper, well, i always used to give my mom a hard time about smoking so i put it in their thinking that it would scare her into not smoking... it backfired and she inhaled it as it burnt up and coughed... i felt horrible, i told her what i did and she was pissed, i feel like I will die one day and the coroner will have to make a judgment because that is what he gets paid to do right???
  • I know as a non smoker I'm likely to be lambasted here, but... Frankly, I don't really care that 36,666 people die a month in the US alone as a result of smoking. If these people choose to smoke, or if people choose to start smoking, they know the hazards and have for decades. If I smoked, I would do so knowing this and also wouldn't care. This is the attitude of most of the people I know who are smokers. Smokers lost any possible hint of sympathy I may have had during that big class action law suit in the 90s where all of the sudden a sh*tload of smokers claimed absolute ignorance about the effects of smoking on their health. After decades of being told about it before then. Smokers who wish to quit want to do so for exactly the type of statistic you listed. Wanna smoke? Go ahead. It's your right and I won't even say anything about it to you. Just PLEASE don't b*tch about all the problems you end up with later on.
  • okay, thats a good enough reason for me to quit. thanks.
  • yes , I dont think that dying from cigarettes is considered suicide and I will be allowed into heaven .
  • Yep. In the words of Rick James "It's a hell of a drug."
  • YES,I LOVE TO SMOKE IT GIVES ME AN ENORMOUS SENSE OF WELLBEING
  • Yes, my wife just started six months ago, and she knows about the risks.
