  • Ha-ha! Last time I was in Canada, I picked up a load of Christmas trees and when I came to the border, to re-enter the US, I had to pay to get in!

  • In Bangkok. Our tuk-tuk driver took us to places that we didn't want to visit.

  • in subic bay, a bunch of us sailors were supposed to board the USS Saint Paul, a destroyer, to go to Hong Kong. Some chief told us to go five flights down to our bunks. then he said he made a mistake, so we had to carry our seabags up five flights back to the dock. then he did it again and we went down five levels and waited and we got ordered back to the dock. then one more time down five levels and then we got to stay there for the rest of the cruise. then we pulled out of port right into a hurricane. waves were crashing over the bow. half the crew was sick. i stayed in my bunk and slept in my own throw up.

  • When we arrived at a beach condo that we had advance reservations, we were told the room we rented (right on the beach)had plumbing problems, so we would have take an alternate room, on the inside. I had paid extra for the beach room, so I complained. They said it would be fixed the next day, and we would get the first night free. Then they finally gave us a suite,on the beach, which was far more expensive, but promised the original price. The bill that was presented when we checked out showed a charge for the first night, and the full price for the suite. I was very upset, but tried not to take it out on the clerk. She called the owner and got it straightened out, but it was an emotional hour or so.
  • Hungary, crossing the border. The customs people came on our bus with machine guns and took our passports for 45 minutes.
  • With my husbands hip replacement they gave us a real hassel going thru security at the airport.He had his paper work on the metal but that did not help.
