You can connect the camcorder to a computer via USB, or use IEEE 1394 device to capture the video, the camcorder is recognized as an external hard drive. You can then copy the *.mod files to the computer. Some video editing programs will work directly with the *.mod files, while others would require you to rename the *.mod files to *.mpg files.
