For me it's a symptom of being in a filthy unmaintained public bathroom! I do that, but only in public restrooms that don't have seat covers, not at home.
-
no, it's a symptom of good hygiene, especially in a public toilet. Toilet seats are disgusting. Do you know how much pee and stool debris is on that seat? Do you understand how many people with STDs use the toilet seat, and get their debris on that seat before you?
-
I certainly hope not because I've done it before in poorly maintained public restrooms.
-
If its your toilet yes, if not, I believe is self preservation! I do it, half the roll in one go!! :D
-
Not if it's a public toilet seat. There is usually a dispenser for seat covers in most restrooms, at least west of the Mississippi:-)
-
If it's your own toilet, then yeah.
-
On my toilet I don't mind my parents or girlfriends, anybody else that would use it I would have to clean it before I could sit on it again! Slightly OCD :)
-
No just good hygiene.
-
No, dear. It isn't. The only way I can figure it would be is if you showed signs of additional obsessions or compulsions, too, such as constant hand washing, constant showering....that kind of thing. But by itself, no.
-
If the public restroom that I'm in doesn't have seat covers, I make them! That's the only time I do it. I don't think that's OCD.
-
No, although I'm not quite sure what people think they are protecting themselves from. Most toilet seats are relatively clean areas...BUT the taps and door handles are another story.....
-
I don't think so, I don't do it at my house because my OCD compulsion is bleach. I bleach my toilets at my house 1 or 2 times a week so I don't feel the need to put toilet paper on them but at public bathrooms yes. Think of how many nasty people have butt sores & vaginal sores & sit on those seats. Now think of how many young people work at most public places that refuse to clean bathrooms because they think they are above cleaning toilets. Personally I don't want anyone else's open sores or infections near my bottom that may have used that restroom before me. And I"m the same way with sinks & light switches & door handles the same germs are on those too from the same people that don't wash & wipe their bottoms. I use a towel to open the door or turn off the light when I leave & when I can I try to open the door with my shirt or something.
-
If you think this compulsion is irrational, then yes it's OCD. If it's just a matter of normal hygiene then no.
-
Placing some toilet paper down on the seat, no. Making an elaborate architectural design out of it, maybe;)
-
Nope, it's just a make-shift "ass gasket".
-
No. Just being cautious. That's a good thing.
-
sounds like it
-
either that or youre paranoid about germs
