The Pacific Ocean. I've swum and snorkeled it, cruised and sailed it, watched sunsets and yes, sunrises over it, and lived alongside it, for the past 25 years. With a nod to Misstarrie, a close second - the Mississippi River:)

These two kind of cool. On the left, you'll see my favorite body of water. And on the right, well, being from the ACC, I'm sure you can see it. ;) My serious answer is that I've been to the beach in CA, and those were nice, so I guess the Pacific Ocean.

For the views, Rara Lake, which is the largest in Nepal, and the St. Lawrence river. For swimming, it would be the pool at the bottom of Vernal Falls in Yosemite.

(1) Waterton Lake in Waterton Lakes Park in Alberta (especially at sunset, with the two mountains on either side of the lake) (2) the waters of the Golden Gate leading into San Francisco Bay (I love that city) and the Inner Lagoon in Fisherman's Wharf (3) the Southern Calif. waters off of Dana Point and San Diego/Coronado (4) Lake Champlain (at sunset) in Burlington, Vermont (5) The Bay of Fundy by New Brusnwick / Nova Scotia

The Ottawa River, very nice. A little cold for swimming, even in the summer, but I spent half my childhood either swimming in it in the summer or skating on it in the winter. :o)

Right now my favorite body of water is the bath filled with soapy hot water that I am about to submerge myself in for about an hour. *Yells to tub* be there in a minute :)
