  • I strongly DISagree. This is one thing that I feel very strongly about, and I know that my views are different from most other peoples' ideas on the subject of marraige and divorce. My views are that it is entirely too EASY to get a divorce these days, notice I did NOT say that it was cheap, it costs too damn much in court costs and legal fees, but I feel that the money issue aside, it is just too damn easy for one or both people in a marraige to just have a bad day and act like a spoiled child... "I don't love you anymore! I wanna go home to mommy!" If anything, I say that there are entirely too many things that are viewed as "grounds for divorce" and the requirements for granting a divorce are way too low. People should see marraige as a SERIOUS and real committment for life, not a convenient way to spend a few months.
  • I agree. As mentioned in another answer.. marriage is a serious lifelong commitment, but lets face it .. no-one in their right mind wants to be committed for life to someone who continually abuses them and/or their children and puts their life in danger by doing so. The laws suck and these cases warrant immediate annulment of marriage. If one party is unable to, or refuses to, honor the marriage contract then that contract becomes nothing more than a piece of paper binding the other party to very often, immeasurable amounts of grief and misery for a very long time until a divorce may be granted. No-one should have the right to force that mistake on someone else for any longer than it takes to rip the useless contract up and throw it in the bin.
