  • Now that I think about it, I cannot recall ever hearing of a woman being trained anywhere other than Fort Jackson, South Carolina (that's where I went, too) although I don't honestly think Jackson is the only place they train. I don't think Fort Benning trains females because that's primarily where they train recruits who are to be in the infantry. Also, I may be mistaken here, but when I read your question it seems as if you are assuming that 1) all bases train new recruits and 2) women train separately from men. So just in case, 1) not all Army posts have basic training, and 2) women train alongside men during basic.
  • Women can attend Army Basic Training at either Ft. Jackson, SC or Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Ft. Jackson is the usual spot but Ft. Leonard Wood also trains females in the MOS's 31B military police, 21 series MOS, 79T NBC specialist.
  • When I was trained at Fort Knox, Kentucky there were women inductees being trained there also but, of course, they were kept separate from the men.
