Hi Keithold ... When I was in school I didn't like history, but now I really like it, specially my country's history between XVI and XIX centuries

Not really until my junior year .. then I had the cutest new history teacher (an ex-marine) :p .. so I paid a lot more attention ;)
-
Yes, and im still in hs and its my second best subject.. next to psychology, but im going to be a psychologist when i get older so that's a given. I suck at math tho, and science. Language arts is in my tops too ;)
-
Yes. Until high school, where it seemed they just went over the same things in more detail. I've since changed my perspective.
-
History was my favorite subject in school. I especially enjoyed Ancient History.
-
In and out of school, I have an interest in history.
-
Meh, not really.
-
I always hated history, but i'll watch the History Channel on TV. It must be like, "I'll wait for the movie to come out".
-
as long as it was related to war/military in any way.
-
No, I wasn't and I Im still not. Even though I have a brother with a Masters in History, or maybe thats why:)
-
I'm currently in high school, and...well it interests me to some extent, learning what people were capable of, and how it changed our world today. HOWEVER, because I'm in an extended French program, my teacher teaches it in French, and I only understand like 4 words in the whole sentence! So don't blame me if I fall asleep in History lol!
-
Yes, history class was one of the classes that I could sleep in since it was held in a movie theater. Needless to say, I got a B- to Cs in that class...
-
No, but I am now. I graduated high school in 1968.
-
I wasn't interested in history in high school; but, about my junior year in college, I started thinking about how it would be good to understand how everything was interrelated.
-
No. However it was not a very hard subject.
-
Hell no..hated it. semi-kida-mildly appreciate it now, but still can't spend a whole day at a museum.
-
No. It was really boring and my teacher insisted that the AC stay on 52 and I was ALWAYS freezing and he would be standing at the podium sweating his ass off. It used to just piss me off and put me to sleep.
-
Not really, I wish I had paid more attention in school.
-
Oh I love history! It was my best subject!
-
I've always loved history. I was at regular level at all classes except for history I was advanced.
-
NOOOOOO. Maths was my interest.
-
Very much so
-
I've always been interested in history.
-
no

Yes, thanks to a wonderful U.S. History teacher I had. He didn't use the text book but rather his large loose-leaf of notes with anecdotes, backgrounds and sidebars that transformed history from a boring dull subject to an interessting and exciting story. I have modeled my method of teaching history after his.

Hated history in school, but then it was more a matter of memorizing lots of dates/events and spitting those back. Very little thinking or evaluation. Got plenty of the "who, what, when and maybe where" but little of the "how or why". And none of it had any application to anything remotely related to "us" "there and then" let alone to the future. (or so it seemed at the time) Looking back, unfortunately four years of high school history left me with the impression that "history = a series of political and military events". Yikes! :) Now, I love history. Certainly more complex and alive than I ever imagined back then. And certainly not as narrow or black and white. (Where was Ken Burns and his documentaries back then? lol)
-
i loved History in school was my strongest subject was always good with dates ! :)
-
No. It was my official "take a nap" time.
