Sometimes I take them when I'm not sick...but there's always a *good* reason. Like not wanting to go to work :)
-
I do it very rarely. But every now and again i dont see it as a problem. Considering that we work 48 weeks out 52. We deserve it!
-
Well I dont get paid if i don't work so no, I don't, though I would love to!
-
I used to do that when I was younger, but it seems the older I get the more my work ethics change.
-
Well.. you gotta finish 10 paid sick days/yr. That in itself is a good reason.
-
Sickness is the common reason everybody give for their absence.. But I take leave only for good purposes like for watching movie or cricket match.
-
Yes, I do, and don't feel a bit guilty about it any more. I work hard, and sometimes a person just needs an extra break. I have to take over everything whenever someone else calls in sick, so they should be able to return the favor.
-
Well yeah. Isn't it a waste of a sick day to use it when you are actually sick?
-
I'm retired military, so I get paid whether I'm sick or not, so I suppose you could say that I have an unlimited number of "sick days." : )
-
I will sometimes extend my sick time off when I'm actually starting to feel better, well enough to go back to work.
-
No, even when I take sick days, I have my phone and laptop with me. I've basically been on call since 1986. And yes, I am burning out.
-
LOL! I wish. I work at home so my time is mine to decide but I do have to use it wisely as I have some health problems and can't just foolishly take off a day when I'm feeling really well.
-
When I worked it was next to impossible. However, there were some days that I just had to stay home and I wasn't sick if you know what I mean.
-
There's always a good reason. :)
-
No, I run a home daycare and I can't just take off, if I did a number of other ppl would have to also, and I just don't think it's responsible for me to do that to others.
-
All my days off are for a good reason. Sick days and vacation days are the same to me. I earn them. If I'm not ill, I use sick days to recharge. My former employer gave all employees sick/mental health leave - now that's progressive. All work and no play makes me Jack a dull boy...
-
I always worry whenever I am absent. One time, I tried to have a personal leave so I can attend my son's school activity but we (me and my son) end up getting sick (cold and flu virus) on the day that I scheduled my leave. I still am not comfortable taking leave of absent whether it is sick leave or not. But when I have my vacation time, I wish it will never end. LOL. :D
-
Yeah, sometimes I'm just sick of getting up, it's my time, why not. A content employee is a happy employee:)
-
I have called out JUST because I didn't want to get out of bed. Luckily I work in a place where we have a limited number of paid days off, so I can do that.
-
I can take up to 8 days of sick leave a year....in 2007 I used only 2 and I was actually sick.....Guess I'm just too lazy to use for no good reason.
-
My desire to take sick days is enough of a reason to take off. I keep a minimum of 150 or so hours on the books to carry over to the next year. If I take no sick time I get a $100 gift certificate and my hours are doubled, but I like taking my days so I don't have to touch my vacation time.
-
Mental Health Day... just to celebrate being alive!
-
I definitely took a few too many sick days this semester for no reason whatsoever.
-
You know I have this stupid stubborn pride thing about never being sick....I have not taken any sick time for 10 years when I had a sinus operation!
