  • Some people believe that everything in the Bible is true and have been raised to believe that the Bible is the one true word of God. That's what their pastors preach and what their parents teach and what they cling to on a day-to-day basis. So they view life through the prism of the Bible.
  • Why then are questioning people on AB when the answer to everything is supposedly on the Internet? The same argument could hold true here also.
  • I do not know about every single Christian, but the comments about the “answer to everything is in the Bible” only refers to the answers on how one needs to be and act and perform in order to return to Heaven, as far as, answers to the many thousands of other questions those answers are not found in the Bible. That is why Father-In-Heaven gave us Intelligence and free will, but then only someone that has not really truly studied Christianity wouldn't know that, now would they?
  • The bible has good moral lessons, but it doesn't tell you how to deal with the neighbor who keeps blasting music until 3am or the boyfriend who wants his ex girlfriend to move in with him but it's okay because they're 'just friends'.
  • They are trying learn, by asking questions and debating them.
  • Because the bible is so vague that even the religious can not agree on how to interpret it. Proof of this is how many different contradicting religious groups there are.
  • The answer to everything IS in the Bible. One needs only to open their heart to understand. The river has always been there, He just asks you to drink if you would just humble yourself. The "prove it" attitude will get you nowhere, because He's accountable to no one.

  • No religious person is happy until we are all on our knees grovelling exactly the same way they are.

  • It may be to contrast the Word of God vs. the word of man. To quote the name of Johnny Carson's old show, "Who do you Trust?"
  • Well, most of the answers that are in the bible have to do with, morals, values, ways to live, how to treat others, what to hate, etc. It doesn't really cover "How do I put together a watch" or "Where is a good place to eat in Cali". Even religious people need tech support.
  • To some religious people it is the answer to all of life's questions, to others it is all they know, to some it is a good reference guild to life, to some it it is a beautiful book to not take literally but philosophically. People of strong religion beliefs are here to spread the word. Never be turn off by it....it is always good to listen to all views...this is how we learn.
