  • I see them as animated consumers, or a little entertainment with my meal.
  • I don't like noisy eaters. If I am eating at the same time, it puts me off my food a bit.
  • Coming across a cultural difference?
  • Now that kind of a thing just gets under my skin.
  • It is gross. I find another place to eat or I tell the person to get some manners.
  • Annoying.
  • If their doing it to bring attention to themselves then they'll find a fork sticking out of their forehead. However, when I was in Japan eating at a soup kitchen it was considered a compliment to the chef because the soup was so good.
  • I find it rude and wonder if they were taught manners while growing up. As a footnote, I have no idea where I learned them from, because my Mother eats and talks with her mouth full. She drops food from her mouth on her clothes or table, I find the whole thing embarrassing. I refuse to go out to eat with her in public. I also tell people (close friends) that they are not eating with etiquette. I can't stand when people do not cut food up into bite size pieces, they stuff huge pieces of meat or a whole piece of broccoli in their mouth then their cheeks bloat out and it just does not look refined.
  • They might need some practice.
  • I probably am guilty of doing both at times..so I would look upon them kindly and think that they are truly enjoying what they ingest and what they imbibe! :)
  • At my supper table~you would get a smack upside your head, I find it to be rude and distracting at my own home so my kids know NOT to do it!I know in some cultures it is acceptable even complimentary, which is fine for them.I just won't have it at my table.
  • Eew - that is one of my pet peeves - table manners. there's nothing worse than chewing with your mouth open, talking with a mouth full of food, making slurping lipsmacking noises and using your knife and fork like they are weapons (hacking and stabbing rather than cutting). Oh and people please - bite size pieces - if you have to open your mouth as far as it will go, it's too big of a piece, cut the food in half! OK - finished my rant now - think you get the picture!
  • Annoying. But what can I do?
  • They disgust me.I loathe bad table manners.
  • I'll only tolerate it if my 2-year old does it. Anyone older than that risks being sent off to the naughty-step!
  • I have a lot of compassion for humanity. I try to think of each individual as more than just a sum total of all their "bad" (as perceived by me) qualities. I used to be a public defender. If I refused to represent all my homeless or drug-addicted clients who had poor manners...I don't think that would have compassionately served society.
  • I don't like it, and am annoyed by it. But I know in some countries it is considered polite to slurp and all of that. So it depends where you're from.
  • That's something you learn not to do, when you're a kid. My old man would've smacked me in the mouth for acting like a jackass, at the dinner table.
  • I am in no position to judge as when my jaw was broken it never grew back properly and now i have this really loud 'clicking' of my jawbone when i eat... People usually find it really annoying.
  • I can not stand someone who make noise when they eat, what really burns my butt is someone that eats with their mouth open. It's disguesting, the noise, the food, why don't they just show me there ass and eat from that. It wouldn't make as much noise.
  • i hate people making 'eating' noises 'chowing' as my mum calls it its easily avoided and put me off my food, slurping a straw i do and doesnt bother me at all
  • doesn't everyone?
  • ever so annoying to me...like scratching fingernails on a chalkboard...I can';t stand it!!!!
  • I can't stand it and I lose my appetite. They usually know if something's up cuz I will just stop eating and stare at them. It's the most disgusting thing ever to do. I hate it!! Gross
  • It doesn't bother me at all, unless it is amplified in a TV ad. I don't understand why they do that.
  • I find it totally unacceptable. There is really no need for it and can be stopped (unless there is a medical reason).
  • Without manners.
  • I can't stand it. It makes me want to rip my ears off. I don't mean to offend anybody, but it just drives me insane.
  • supposly when people do that you taste the flavor more.
