  • Because of the insulting and quite presumptious nature of your question, my lawyer will be in contact with you very soon.
  • Yes. Flooding the courts with nonsense cases doesn't help ANYONE.
  • As much as I think there is some abuse...frivoulous is in the eye of the beholder...
  • Yes. one prisoner sued the Federal Government for not allowing him to worship his pet rock. He was American Indian and his pet rock weighed about 2,000 pounds. He wanted to place the rock in the center of the prisoner courtyard. Just to have this case appear before a Federal Judge, cost the public $10,000. What a waste of money.
  • We do live in a litigious society but this isn't neccesarily a bad thing. The courts are much better at weeding out the truly frivilous. some that would seem frivilous actually have merit. we've all heard of the woman that sued mcdonald's because the coffee that she was handed at the drive up window burned her when the lid popped off and she spilled it. she was awarded something like 3 million dollars. next thing you know, signs are posted to warn customers that the coffee is hot and suddenly the lids are redesigned and they fit better. the point i'm trying to make is that because of lawsuits, we hold manufacturers, businesses, people on all levels accountable and it does make living on earth safer as time goes on.
  • Yes. It costs us almost the same amount to defend a frivolous lawsuit as it does a valid one.
  • Yes, but I believe the lawyers are more culpable for this..
  • Yes they definitely do . The legal system in the US is being run into the ground with petty frivolous suits. It is not as bad in the UK as there is not such thing as punitive damages but there are now Lawyers doing No win No fee so it will increase. This is my 22222 answer
  • Yes, the legal system is abused, as well as nearly every other freedom we have in America. Those who take liberty with freedom abuse it. Therefore, liberals abuse our freedoms.
  • Absolutely. I think that there should be some sort of system like, three strikes, you're out regarding civil claims. That is, if you've habitually filed frivolous civil lawsuits, you should be mandated to take a break for a year. Keep in mind that I do not wish to deny anyone their rights when it comes to criminal actions, which are not filed by individuals but rather are litigated through the districts attorney and the defendant's counsel.
  • Yes and that is why there is a semi-new law set inplace that if a person knowingly files a frivilous lawsuit, and loses, the person who was originally sued can in turn sue the person who filed the orginal suit for any damages incurred due to the frivilous lawsuit (did that make sense). Basically: Fred files a frivilous lawsuit agains Bob. Fred loses. Bob can now sue Fred for any money lost due to defending himself (lawyers fees, court fees, materials, letters sent). But you have to make sure you are able to prove that Fred knew he was filing a frivilous suit to begin with.
  • I don't know why more people don't try to settle their disputes without filing a lawsuit. If people would communicate with each other and treat each other as they would want to be treated, I think a lot of cases could be resolved without court intervention. Too many people are out to get rich or get someone.
  • Absolutely and as a result denies people with legitimate cases to be delayed for years.
  • Nope. All lawsuits get pre checked for being in the public interest and credible,
  • sounds like it
