Have something that people really care about and promote it. My nephew and his friend just raised over $2000 in just one month for the homeless. They just hit the pavement and asked everybody they ran into.

Put them in the next shuttle visiting the Sky Lab, they will raise very quickly. And they'll even get a lot of G Forces to accompany them.
