They can't grow in rows? I figured that some species could be 'trained' to do so...so I'm going to go with false.
-
That seems a pretty accurate and comprehensive view to me.

LOL you have to correct with this one -- + 5 and hello DA BEN

So true, so true. Anyone who's had to pull weeds knows!
-
I think a weed is really just an ordinary plant that grows where we don't want them to grow.
-
Maybe...they certainly have a mind of their own and show up uninvited in unexpected places. We have tons of them in our backyard and along the side walls..however, they have these beautiful yellow flowers..when we look outside we see bouquets(or clumps) of them..they close at night and when the sun comes out during the day they open up and smile at us..I don't know if we're going to have the moral fortitude to yank 'em out...:)

I don't think any plants grow in rows without human intervention... Funny thing is, that some plants which are expensive to buy in the UK are actually weeds in Greece!
-
I think it's true. Good question, DBD. +
-
True and one person's weed is another's flower.
-
Excellent observation! And I believe it is true.

It takes human intervention to grow any type of plant in a row to my knowledge. I grew up in the country, and there was many pretty wildflowers that tended to grow randomly. A half hour walk away from my house though there are some old homesteads from the 18th-19th century. You can actually see flowers still growing in rows that had been planted 100's of years ago. It's amazing.
