• Three things: 1) Let it go and live your life. 2) If you believe what the Bible says, you believe that it also says anyone who predicts the end of time is wrong. 3) Let it go...
• Yes, the world will end because we don't have any calendars. Also, the world will end in the year 2000 because computers don't know what time it is.
• Calenders DO go past 2012, they can go to infinity. The world WILL NOT end in 2012. Yes, people will die in 2012, just as they do now an in the past. The believers don't know when any rapture will happen, they want to think they do, but they don't. Morons will say that they know when rapture will happen. As Spock said, "Live long and prosper."
• the truth is that life can end at any time.. so live your life, get on with it.. and stop complaining.. see the silver lining...
• Dec 21, 2012 is the end of the Mayan calendar, and people who believe such things think that since the Mayan calendar was spot on for so many astronomical events for centuries after the end of their own civilization, it must mean that they forsaw the end of the world. Nothing's gonna happen, just like Nostradamus didn't predict 9/11, and a fortune teller can't help you win the lottery by squeezing a goat's testicles.
• the rapture, end of the world and all that associated stuff is all myth, and superstition. Life is too precious to waste worrying about the end or it ending. Live life to the fullest, what happens happens, anyone who thinks they can predict the future is full of it. Even the best shamans cannot predict such things. Dont listen to the doomsday cults either. Religions know not a iota more than anyone else when the world will end, it could end tomorrow, or in 1 million years(around when I think any drastic global changes will surface, or the expansion of the sun)
• Yaawwwwn. How many times has the Rapture been predicted thus far? Ever read "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"? The "Rapture" people are going to have a harder and harder time being taken seriously (stifling a giggle) with each time the fake Rapture prophecy turns out to be false. Get on with your life, don't worry about the sky falling. Maybe it will be the Rapture that ends your life, maybe you'll get hit by a taxi, maybe a nuclear war will wipe us all out. Either way, your days are numbered on this Earth. Make the most of it instead of worrying about what myths "might" come true.
• You are sadly misinformed, if you think 2012 is something to worry about. Do more investigation and you will see it is all fake.
• Are you from any Latin or Italian descent? If not Nostradomus and the Mayans and Aztecs prophecies shouldn't affect you. I'm a believer in believe what you want to believe. If you want to believe that these things will happen, you can. Use it as an excuse to live your life to the fullest. When I graduate in 2012, I plan on going to Japan and having a good time, even though I don't think that the world will end.
• Oh my, don't worry about that....when I was in the 7th grade back in the early 70's, I went to a "Christian" school and they used to tell us the end of the world was going to be in 1984! Well, it's 2008 and we are still here!!
• unlike our calender the mayan calender is circular and at the end of the mayan circular calender is 2012 but what happens when you get to the end of the circle well you start from the beginning of coarse. our calender is linear it goes on in a straight line. but actually 2012 is the year the our sun will line directly to the centre of our galaxy. so 2012 is more of a astronomical event the mayan predicted rarther then the end of the world.
• The world was supposed to end in the year 2000 too, if you could get a hold of calanders in 1990 they didn't go past 2000. Don't do something stupid because of rumours.
• RELAX. Take a deep breath. Goooosfrabbaaaa. Even if it seriously happens everything's going to be alright.
• First of all, they said the same for 2000. Second, Whatever believer told you that is a knucklhead. The Bible says no one will know the time nor the hour. There is no way of knowing or predicting. You have nothing to fear, hold on the your bible, and ride through with the rest of us.
• you know what will happen after 2012. it will be 2013 and so on. nothing is going to happen. how would the world stop after 2012. is someone going to put the brakes on and stop everything. i dont think so
• OK! You have 4 years left, so you need to - Finish your studies. Meet a chick. Get married. Buy a house. Have babies. Teach your babies. Retire. Get your pension. Do lots of gardening. Die.
• This whole 2012 thing comes from the false perception that the ancient Mayans predicted this as the end of the world. Their calendar, as they worked it out, simply ended in this year. There's no reason to think they believed this meant the end of life, only that the calendar would have to be reprogrammed. The Mayans couldn't even predict the end of their society, so I doubt they foretold the end of the world. Since then, the year 2012 has been attached to Edgar Cayce, Nostrodamus and others, all falsely. Why it's been associated with the Christian notion of rapture is a mystery to me, as there is no date specified in the Bible. Mankind has lived through thousands End-Of-World predictions. Take a deep breath, relax and plan your future in peace.
• Fear not! God is not the author of fear. If you fear something other than God that fear is of the devil. If you love God and trust in Jesus you will not be afraid of anything. I laugh at all the doom and gloom and I am liviving in Christ and loving every minute of my life good or evil. I am confident that 2012 will be just another year and if Jesus comes in the rapture good we go home what's bad about that? live in Christ and trust in him and you will no longer live in fear of anything or anyone...
• Wow, you're WAY too paranoid. We're all going to die anyways, don't be scared of death. Plus, there is 4 more years, just live out your life.
• Nothing more is going to happen in 2012 than it did with Y2K. No worries.
• The world has been supposed to end numerous times. The year 2000 was the latest occurrence of the end of the world. We are still here. It will not happen in 2012. The world will end someday, but no one has, or will predict the exact year.
• Global warming will have destroyed us long before 2012. I'm surprised it hasn't destroyed us already. Probably next month some time.
• Just enjoy life, its best to think positive for everything right? Even if you die, lets just think of everything you get in heaven? x) fun fun fun
• Every generation for centuries has believed that theirs would be the one that would see the end of days. The end of the world has been predicted countless times, and they have been wrong every single time. I hope that's at least a little comforting.
• Are you out of your mind!!! Do me a favor, when you turn 18, just dont vote. Maybe we need to start thinking instead of paying attention to nonsense.
• population/fear control is your answer.
• On please, they said the same thing about 2000 and nothing extrodinary happened then.Just some senseless superstition.
• I have a calendar that goes past 2012....Sounds like a prime example of natural selection, though.
• But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.—Matthew 24:36 no one knows when. we have to be saved and ready at aLL times. it could be before 2012 it could be after.. check out this website, helpful Bible verses... http://www.scripturemenu.com/BibleVerseList.html?topicid=47
• The bible says that not even Jesus himself knows the hour of His Father's return. Why worry about some 'what if' scenario that mere people came up with. Remember Y2K?
• Do you speak for all Canadians?
• my best advice is for you to go do some research into this. The Mayan calendar does end 12/21/2012 but there is a lot of different things this could mean. The calendar is not tied in to the bible or the rapture.
• Hellooooo?!! Were you alive at the end of 1999? Same thing was said then. People say a lot of stupid shit, but that doesn't make it true. "But concerning that day and hour, no one knows. Not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only." Matthew 24:36 When God is ready it will all go down and nobody is going to know when it will happen. So you can pretty well guarantee it won't happen in 2012, because that would mean somebody knows, and God said no one would know.
• i believe anything can happen. however i dont believe the world will end in 2012. i also dont believe that drinking bottled water can give u cancer. dont ask, i heard it on the news.
• wow for the first time i've seen negative comments directed to the PERSON and not the question. Alot of people thought that the LHC could blow the world up. FAT FUCKING CHANCE. And what I found was the biggest thing to scare people was MISINFORMATION. i knew about the LHC before it was publicized, i researched that stuff, i love physics and research, and i was well informed, and when i heard my peers saying things like "The Large HARD-ON collider uses 75% of the worlds power" and "The LHC is gona make a black hole and suck us all in!" its all poppy cock! if 2012 happens, i think people wont freak out, everyone is going to turn into chickens in the rain, just look up and watch that meteor come down or w.e In my personal opinion concerning the actual event, i don't think it'll happen. its purely the production of a number of drugged up 'prophets' People need to be educated on how to form critical opinions, take everything with a grain of salt, not have shit like "2012 theories" on discovery channel -_-
• buy a helmet...that's all I'm allowed to say.
• This is all nonsense, mrs. clean09. I am sure that by believers you mean Christians, and I am here to assure you that this 2012 "prophecy" is but a cult belief. No Christian church should ever preach or say anything that is not mentioned in the Bible.
• Actually calenders do go past. This thing used to be in my phone book but I just looked and it's not there, in my book anyways. There used to be a page with about 15 annual calenders on it. You could look up a year and it would tell you calender 2 or 6 or whatever, and that would have been, or will be, the calender for that year. So you could also look up your birthday day for years, or what day your birthday would be on when you turned 100. So what this all means, is that there are only so many calender formats out there, they just keep all getting recycled. Also, calenders are a man made creation of keeping track of time, and not even a perfect one. We are off by a second or more every year, so if no one ever adjusted it, eventually day would be night, although I'm sure that would take a million years. Man made creations of tracking time don't have the power to create bad things or create redemption or cause Armageddon. So yes, there is a calender for 2012, and beyond, just numbers, recycled, over and over again. The Mayans and their calender probably just went up to 2012, OR this is just what some so-called translators said. I'm sure there are alot of societies that didn't even write up to todays date, and they are still around. I've got plans and they don't really exceed past next summer, societies are not different. Perhaps these archeologists just haven't found the next chapter.
• Be not afraid. Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else. "But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33) Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready. The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns. The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren. Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time. For more information, about what Catholics believe about the end of the world, see: http://www.americancatholic.org/Newsletters/CU/ac0993.asp With love in Christ.
• dont be afraid! god is with us always, dont listen to them... only god knows when the world will end.
• http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:1UHJOLsfavoJ:www.universetoday.com/2008/05/19/no-doomsday-in-2012/+is+mayan+long+counts+accurate%3F&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=8&gl=ca
• Jesus said its all bullcrap- read the bible- its in there.
• It's simply the end of the Age of Picses. We are just into the Age of Acquarius. It means nothing else.
• NOBODY knows when the end is coming. 2012 is when the 2 equators in space meet or something like that.
• You need to do some research on this subject. Look up Planet X on the internet. I a currently a student studying abroad in Mexico, and when 2012 was brought up in recent discussion in class I wanted to know why exactly people feared this day. You need to do research!!! You are young and so I am ( 20), so I know how you feel right now but instead of feeling like you want to die channel you fear into something more productive and be prepared for the future... Seriously watch: first http://www.planetxvideo.com/ <--- its important to understand the Sumerian culture http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8S0bj76389U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjjrStDxTrc&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjjrStDxTrc&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNZIyfBChmA&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zero0Y6TCA8&feature=related good luck, and I hope these videos make things more clearer to you
• Nothing is going to happen. If anything does, it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy involving all the people who are adamant that something will happen killing themselves 'en masse or something. So quit being afraid of ridiculous urban legends cultivated by misinformed media and live your life.
• 2012 might happen due too much pollution and wasting energy. A couple yrs ago there were just advertisment commercials but now there are commercials about recycling and saving energy. Maybe all this activity that we do on earth can lead to 2012.
• Never fear! Teams of government scientists have been working day and night on this problem. Their best solution so far has been to create a new calendar and write 2013 at the top. We'll see...
• well first of all you can't beleive everything this is a prediction just because the mayans calender ends 2012 doesnt mean its the end of the world they have thousands of predictions of the end of the world but truth to be told knowone may never know the end of the world were already living in the end times truth to be told the worst thing that could happen is we either die of global warming or a ice age or possiblly nuclear bomb. and look back at the dates 2006,2000 i'm not saying the world will not end 2012 and im not saying it will end in 2012 the only way to find out the truth is to wait untill 2012 december 21 at 12:00 noon to figure it out.
• Don't worry about it. Soon enough we will look back at 2012 the same way we look back at Y2K. We will wonder why we worried. At least Y2K had the potential to cause some mischief.
• No need to be afraid. Nobody knows, and I mean NOBODY knows when the end will come. Just live life the best way you can, appreciate each moment, and be thankful for what you have. How you live today, and the decisions you make now will determine your future. Reaching out to others is the best way to relieve anxieties.
• At least you'll be 18 and legally allowed to buy a gun before then, so if it gets too close for comfort you won't have to leave it up to chance.
• It is wise to be terrified about the year 2012 when all the calendars go kaput.....well all of them except the actual calender the world uses at the moment..the Roman one. Then again, why would a bunch of obsolete calenders that nobody uses anymore signify anything important except to the now dead culture that made them? Who cares what day the Aztecs celebrated Arbor day on eh? Or what day the Egyptians used as their version of April fools day? Calendars are all man made - they have no cosmic significance other than giving the user a reference point to plan his future Or to qualify the past.
• Remember y2k? 2012 will not be the year of the rapture. It will be at a time that God has not revealed to anyone. Live your life in daily expectation of the bodily return of Christ Jesus as if it could happen tomorrow.
• were were all supposed to die when it turned 2000. then australia didnt die,. and we didnt die. and LOOK1 we are all here....still with bills to pay and wars and everything~!
• Wow. It must not take very much to rattle you huh?
• People have been making guesses like that since the stone age dear :P Obviously, none of them have gotten it right. I believe this 2012 thing is based off a movie, eh?
• When you asked this question, didn't the duplicates of it come up? It's asked about once a month at least.
• No one knows this for sure ... there's no sense worrying about it. Life is too short anyway to waste it worrying ... enjoy your life! ((hugs))
• To remind you people said the world would end in 2000 and its now 2009...i dont think anyone knows when the world will end and i really dont think it will end in 2012...keep living your life and accomplish what you want too cuz u only have one life to live and dont live it in fear. :)
• There are a number of calming thoughts for you concerning the 2012 doomsday prophecy. One that I find quite heartening is that the Mayans, the supposed prophets, were apparently not clairvoyant enough to prevent the fall of their own cities and culture. You would think that a civilization with such great knowledge of the world would be able to at least save their own cities. Also, every generation for thousands of years has believed that they were in the end times and that they would see doomsday, and every single time, they were wrong.
• The world was supposed to end in 1988 and then in 2000 (and another year but I don't remember which one). The world is still standing. Nothing will change. People will die. They will be born. If the year 2000 went off smoothly why be worried about 2012? You can't live worrying about something that some people predict. In 1987 everyone panicked as in 1999 that the world would end. It's now 2009.
• When I was in 5th grade the kids got to talking about how the world would end in 1980. I cried and cried at school, then went home and cried and cried some more. I was terrified, and so sad about all the things I would never get to do. I cried about it on and off for about a month, and was frightened about it for years. Now it's 2009, and there are still many things I haven't gotten to do. Don't waste your life being scared.
• Why are you scared? I genuinely don't know why anybody is actually buying this 2012 crap. Mind you, I actually don't know anybody who is in the UK - must be a US thing! This same thing was meant to happen in 2007, 2008, 2009 (certain Christian groups, I prefer to think of them as cults, have pushed the year back with each day the sun rose after the supposed end of the world) and countless times before. All these 'prophecies' do not stand up to any kind of intelligent scruitiny whatsoever. Take some time to read them for yourself, think about them objectively, see how the original sources and ideas can mean almost anything, and be manipulated to mean almost anything, and you will see it is just more BS. I am actually looking forward to 2012 to see how these fear mongers prohesising the end of the world try to explain their rediculous 'mistake'.
• if the world does end in 2012 there isn't a f**king thing you can do about it, plan for ur future and live it up along the way, if it doesn't happen you'll be set if it does u will die
• 2012? You should be more "worried" about making it to the end of the day. You could be hit by a bus if you're distracted from thinking about someone's fanciful prediction (from thousands of years ago) that -- even if it is true -- has nothing you can do about it.
• Nothing is going to happen in 2012. I was scarred too becase my 5th grade teacher told me that thats when the world was going to end but acoriding to the bible no one knows. My mom said the other day she saw a show where there was still a few myan people alive so the show people asked if thats when the world was going to end and they said no thats just when they stoped making the calender and they said we were still going to have many more years. Plus how is it going to end it cant be astroides because they would know at least 100 years if thats how the world was going to end. So don't worry about it everything is going to be okay....sorry about my spelling :)
• There's still a few hours to go before 8.12 pm GMT so there is still time for a long goodbye. Enjoy!
• The 2012 thing is complete and absolute hokum. The whole thing is based on the fact that the calendar of the Mayans, an interesting but disappeared society, comes to the end of its Great Cycle in December 2012. Rather like our milennium came to and end in 2000. Note that the Mayans never prophesied that anything would happen when it ended. In fact, they didn't prophecy anything, becasue it was too far in the future. The Mayans were just one of many extinct pre-Columbian societies. Unless you are totally gullible, there is no reason to believe they knew anything more than the Inca, Aztec, Toltec, Nazca, Ancient Egyptian, Ancient Cambodian, Babylonian, or pre-Roman British civilisations. In other words, you are jumping at shadows - and not even dark ones.
• The world was predicted to end lots of times. Nothing will happen in 2012, like it never does!
• There have been so many other wrong predictions. I made up my mind after the second one I heard to live every day, breathe and love, dance and live. If you pray, pray to stop being afraid. We are all in this world together.
• What can you do about it, even if it was true? Nothing. Choose to stop worrying about that which you have no control over. No it's not true. You can choose to do something about the future. Choose to embrace it. According to Isaac Asimov's Book of Facts (1979), an Assyrian clay tablet dating to approximately 2800 BC was unearthed bearing the words "Our earth is degenerate in these latter days. There are signs that the world is speedily coming to an end. Bribery and corruption are common." This is one of the earliest examples of the perception of moral decay in society being interpreted as a sign of the imminent end. http://www.abhota.info/end1.htm
• I happened to fall in love with someone who was raised to believe that the world would go kaboom at any given second, and that all hell would break loose. No matter what I do or say there will always be a part of him that is afraid of this. My advice is to live your life to the fullest and not to worry about it. It's kind of like going outside and being so afraid of being hit by a car, that you don't even see the sun shining. Relax. It's okay. Just breathe. Here is a cool video that reiterates my advice. All the best to you.
• ...aaaand in economic news, despite the current downturn many analysts believe this is the right time to invest in property and other assets of people who think the world is going to end in 2021.
• People thought that the world would end on January, 1st, 1000AD. People thought that all the computers would crash on the first of 2000. But neithier(sp) of those happened. Around 600,000,000 to 3,500,000,000(years, AD) the oceans will evaporate and make the Earth inhabitable. You'll be long dead before then, and so will everyone else. When the world ends, it will. No way to stop it.
• Then the upcoming movie '2012' should make you extra paranoid...
• Here's the thing. The Calendar we use starts on the first day of January every year and ends on the last day of December. Does that scare you? Do you think the world will end because you have no more pages on your calendar? When the Mayans made their calendar, it went in cycles just like ours does. The end of the next cycle will be in December 2012. Then - just like ours - it will start again.
• the whole thing about December 2012 is it is the date the Mayan calender runs out. Will it be the end of the world? NO, I doubt it seriously. The world will continue on for a very long time after you have attained the age of 100. So don't fret about it.
• LOL live life hard
• If it was true, do you think we would waste all our time talking about Micheal Jackson's death? It would literally be on the news 24/7 for the next 3 years
• omg are you kidding me?
• http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-prt5d6m6s wait for what I have to say
• "World Without End," Ephesians 3:21 It is not the end, but a new beginning. Be ready for it if you know what I mean.
• dude im so fucking scared to.....im sooo fucking scared iv been CONSTANLY worrying about this. im completly terrified. i have dreams about it all the time i go to sleep almost everynight this past year almost every night thinking about it before i go to sleep. it is seriously driving me insane iv never been more terrifid in my life. it rlly makes me want to killmyself before then to. i didnt think there was anyone else out there like me that was as terrified as i am about 2012. like i was pretty sure there was but iv never met one. but seriously i dnt know wat to do. it makes me sick thinking about it i cant even watch shows about it i seriously CAN NOT watch em. and its not even just the whole 2012 is the end but "how" its going to end. the dieing star "mya" its hurling towards earth and the only thing they can do to maaaybe help us is get a huge fucking astroid and hurl it only 10,000 miles above earth to to cause a thing called "gravity assit" and it will push earth out of the way of "mya" or farther away from the sun i cant remember which one but either way it will save us "but" its a long stretch plan. god i dnt know. this is seriously makeing want to die before then. i can never get it out of my head.
• The Mayan calendar most likely ended because 2012 is when the earth lines up with the constellation, Ophiuchus. This is also the "celestial equator" of sorts, and the 13th sign of the zodiac. The middle of the galaxy lines up there. That's all. They were able to tell the movement of the stars. It doesn't mean they thought the world would end.
• Nothing is going to happen. The whole 2012 thing is the dumbest, most contrived conspiracy theory to ever gain any sort of popularity. Carry on.
