  • I don't think it is... Even when you call it "undescribeable," you've described it =)
  • Never having to say you're sorry. Which, to me, does not mean you shouldn't say you're sorry when you do something, but that you strive NOT to do things that you will be sorry for.
  • I agree. That is why so many poets and songwriters found great (and not so great) metaphors for it.
  • if you think it is undescribeable then you have just described it :-)
  • No, I would disagree. I would describe true love as Paul did to the Corinthians: at I Corinthians 13:4-8 "Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails"

The actual meaning of that verse is about Charity, not romantic love as some have assumed after the word was changed from the original KJV. "4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Charity never faileth:"
  • Love.... when treated in words is often abused and misused. Love to me is more of a feeling. Its not something that is describeable but when you are in love.... you know it.

  • Love is like a rose bud floating in the wind it does not care how fast you fall or if you fall again love is but a stream that flows on forever It can notbe stopped paused or prevented lve is when you see somenoes faults but do not walk away it is able to see pas t every mistake little or big Love is quick sand it pulls you under holds you tight and never saunters love is silk It is always soft and alwas kind Love is inexplinable it is hard to understand yet its divine and like the purest diamond it is hard to find
  • Indescribable except perhaps through poetry, as Booka and one or two others have pointed out.   Then said Almitra, "Speak to us of Love." And he raised his head and looked upon the people, and there fell a stillness upon them. And with a great voice he said: When love beckons to you follow him, Though his ways are hard and steep. And when his wings enfold you yield to him, Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you. And when he speaks to you believe in him, Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden. For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning. Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun, So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth. Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself. He threshes you to make you naked. He sifts you to free you from your husks. He grinds you to whiteness. He kneads you until you are pliant; And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, - Khalil Gibran
  • I disagree. I think love is describable.
  • I am in Adam's camp right now.
  • I agree. I have problems when asked what love is or if I love someone. "Indescribable" is the best way to put it. Other than that I stumble, mumble and stutter
