I have wondered this one myself -
-
the world would get a lot lighter for that moment
-
The people around the edges would fall off.
-
Not much.
-
If you could get everyone to jump at the same time I wouldn't worry about what would happen but I would be pretty amazed that you got in contact with everyone or had that much time on your hands to locate them.
-
Not a whole lot. My stupid physics teacher once kept arguing with me that when we jump, we dont actually leave the Earth's surface.. Instead, he kept trying to tell us that we were pushing the Earth away from us, with our legs (ie, moving it out of orbit), while we stayed stationary. I told him he shouldnt be teaching physics if he didnt understand it himself.

-
Linda JoyI'm pretty sure he never said "moving it out of orbit". The rest of it is correct to a certain degree we push against the Earth and it pushes against us at the same time.

apprently we would create a mini earthquake, thats one where not much would happen, mabey a little quiver. but just think about how much weight is on the earth. there are , i assume, more trees than people that probally weigh alot more. and thats just trees. so it would be like having a bag full of bricks and chiping a bit off a brick. not alot would happen. i really want to orginize this! how cool would that be!

About the same as if a flea jumped on a very large dog. In other words, not a lot.
-
At lot of seismologists would get cross-eyed.
-
Nothing.
-
It would be entered into the GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS as the world's biggest jump......ever!!
-
Dont really know but that would be alot bouncing titties!:)
-
Same thing that would happen if we double our carbon output. Nothing. The Earth is large. Most of the tiny actions of man don't have much impact on it. http://www.oism.org/pproject/
-
Nothing. But Diamondiva
-
Nothing, but like Diamondiva I'd be impressed with your ability not only to pull off the logistics but to actually convince those with an IQ over 100 to participate!
-
not sure, maybe we should try it and see
-
It might be the start of "global weight loss."
