I think Gene Hackman is an excellent actor,.. probably very under-rated. I have never seen him in a film that he did not play the role as well as it could be played... And he has "saved" a few films that would not have been that good without him, in my opinion. And he is very involved now in promoting good theatre and films to help young actors get started. He had a rough time himself, and by his own admission, was not always the greatest of "guys". But, he is one of the good guys now, as far as I'm concerned.

Yes. For some reason though, great actors like him and Ben Kingsley aren't thought of as being in the same class as Deniro and Pacino, etc. I think they both are just as good though.
