  • I remember it well. About 1957 this film aired on an Ed Sullivan Show in the evening. I was watching it secretly as a child because I was sent upstairs away from the main TV. The film began with an image of a large black SILENT airplane flying towards a sleeping town. In fact I think there was no sound at all with this B&W film. When it dropped the bomb, next came a huge flash of light illuminating everything including families sleeping or some, I think, working at night jobs at the airport. Then the wind came, immediately followed by images of faces melting as people were turned to ashen skeletons. Some showed horror and some never awakened. Truly terrifying. Wonder why there's no reference to this film online?
