  • The bible says yes.
  • It depends on which belief system you subscribe to...
  • You just have to adhere to the core principles that he taught such as doing good unto others and turning the other cheek and the like. If you never heard of him but adhered to his teachings of being an excellent person then I don't think you need to worry. If you just act like the best person you can be then in a nut shell you believe in what Jesus was trying to preach. Just have a good soul and you will be fine.
  • I guess its similar to going to USA and not knowing anything about President Bush :)
  • well in my belief in order to go to heaven you have to ask jesus into your heart and forgivness of your sins from god. So how you could not know of jesus escapes me.
  • Yes only there is more than just knowing about Him. Many people know about Him, but do not except Him as their LORD. God sent Jesus into this world to save those who believed in Him & accepted His death and resurrection as payment of all our sin's. You may want to read John Chapter 3 & V's 15-36 & I John Chapter 4 & I Timothy Chapter 1 . Then if you really want to know Jesus. Just ask Him to come into your life & make a new person out of you. To forgive you of all your sins & to let the Holy Spirit guide you in you're new life with JESUS. Start reading the Holy Word of God & let Him show you His new life that He has for you. In order to do this tho. You your self must ask. It is your choice & no one else can make it for you. I can say this tho. If you decide to ask Jesus Christ to come into your life & forgive you for all your sin's. You will never be sorry for doing so. And each time you read His Holy Word. You many get a different message or better understanding out of it. For His Holy Word never dies.........Good Luck My Friend & Thanks for your question. I gave you a plus 4 for it.....M.C.S.
  • Yes, you do. -In Jesus' Name. Thank you and may God bless you!
  • Yes you need to know JESUS. That's what Christianity is all about. In Matthew Chapter 7:22, HE says, that many will come to ME in that day and say LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, "I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity." So I believe that it is very important to HIM for you to get to know HIM. Honestly anyone who professes to love the LORD would want to get to know HIM. In our own lives when we get to know someone and then fall in love with them, don't we do everything to get to know that person? We try and spend every moment possible to spend time with him or her so that we could get to know that person. That is what HE wants from us....HE desires for us to desire to know HIM.
  • My Bible says if you don't KNOW about & Believe on Jesus, there is no way you are going to heaven....
  •   "Need I believe in Jesus in order to get to heaven?"   No!   "Is there a Heaven?"   If tightly defined as "A place of complete bliss, delight and peace", then i believe there is a Heaven. But that doesn't mean that there is a Hell. i actually believe that there are three states of existence: Heaven -- The state of being with and part of the totality of God. In-between -- The state of being between Heaven and Incarnated. It is a state where entities (souls, spirits, or whatever you choose to call them) contemplate their past experiences and choose future goals and incarnation conditions. Incarnated -- The state of existing in one of the "experience" planes such as the earth plane where knowledge and experience are capable of being comprehended.
  • all depends on what you believe heaven is, which religion you follow, which religion you don't and where you stand on the afterlife to begin with. that being said, you know this question is pretty much going to rile up the christian community here on AB. good luck with answers and questions hope you're doing well
  • I personally don't think you need to know the details. Just that he existed. Even that is more than I really is necessary. I guess I always felt if you just act/do/speak right then your fine. kinda. maybe. not me tho, i'm a lying, cheating, gambling, smoking, drinking fool. :)
  • I submit the question is unanswerable. "Knowing" about an historical figure would require extensive historical research, none of which has been done by most followers of Jesus. They have only read the bible. As for going to heaven, we don't really have any reliable evidence that heaven exists. Sure, there are many religious definitions of a happy life after death, but nobody can tell us he/she was there, saw it and this is what it's like. On the other hand, you can believe in Jesus and believe in heaven and believe you must know Jesus in order to get into heaven. Many people hold this or similar beliefs. But holding a belief is one thing, what the actual state of affairs is ---something entirely different.
  • Yes. You need to be aware of what he did for us.
  • Matthew 11:29- Take my yoke upon you and LEARN of me... I'll just say that Christ never said anything that He didnt mean.
  • Jesus says " I am the way, the truth and the life: no one comes to the Father except by way of me." That is pretty definite. Now, if you had never heard of Jesus, other rules apply: In Romans 1 , Paul writes: 18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities— his eternal power and divine nature— have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. ===== In other words, even if people have never heard of Jesus, they are still aware of the basic nature of God through what they can see in Creation. They will be judged on their reaction to that revelation, and covered by the sacrificial death of Jesus (which was for the whole world). (HOwever, if you have heard of Jesus, know what He did, have access to the Scriptures, you don't fall under the "never have heard" category) Hope this helps.
  • Depends on what Heaven you want to go to I suppose? I like the one that jesus is in charge of. I hear its a lot like Club med?
  • I believe so and if you want to know more let me know.
  • No - astronauts go there all the time in rockets.
  • well according to the Christian Bible, Yes. Now, My personal opinion< i am not sure if what the Church or the Bible say is true, but we have not come on earth from nowhere...so ...i would think about it cos science has got barriers too.
  • no, just knowing about Him is not enough, you must ask Him to be your Lord and Savior and ask Him to forgive you and ask Him to enter your heart and rule and reign there and serve Him on a daily basis. It is the best thing that could ever happen to me. The demons "know" about HIm, yet, they will never enter heaven. I hope you find Him.
  • Yes. Without Him you won't make it. John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."
  • Yes. You need to know about Jesus, believe that He is God manifested in human form to become an atonement for sins, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. He is the way, the truth and the life. Anyone who believes in Him, can become an adopted child of God. The only sacrifice for sins worthy enough was God Himself - so God, loving us so deeply, became man, filled that man body up with His own spirit, lived a perfect sinless life, when He was crucicified He then deliberately took on the sins - every filthy thought, immoral deed, nasty word - every single sin - of everyone who would believe in Him and died with those sins. Then, because He is God, he rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven. IF you confess your sins, repent of them (turn from sin) and trust in Jesus as being the Son of God and believe in His atoning death and resurrection, then you can go to heaven. It is the ONLY way. Don't let anyone deceive you. Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven.
  • according to the Bible, yes, you do. It is believed that you have to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior to get into heaven. however, thats just christian beliefs... who knows? maybe you believe you'll get into heaven if you like apple pie... your belief is just as good as anyone else's ;]
  • yes, u need to know and understand....
  • There is NO such thing as Jesus and never was and. There is NO such thing as heaven and the worst evil thing to do is to lie to children about Jesus, hell, heaven. All the best from Pedro Heid mathew.rose.cash@gmail.com
  • There is no prescription required, the entitlement jesus, or profile associated with his existence is irrelevant when entering your personalized heaven.
  • Yes you do - if you are going to heaven, because if you are going there, then you will be ruling with Him as a King and a priest. A little advance knowledge would certainly help then. At John 17:3 Jesus said: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ". Jesus also said that others, including his apostles, would rule in heaven with him. He called this group the “little flock.” (Luke 12:32) They would have a thrilling work assignment in heaven, ruling as kings and serving as priests along with Christ.— See Revelation 5:9, 10 " And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,  and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.” see also Revelation 14:1, 3
  • No, but it helps. The Catholic Church believes that those who die never hearing of Christ but have sought the truth and does the will of God as they understand it will be saved. This is based on Romans chapter 3: For it is not those who hear the law who are just in the sight of God; rather, those who observe the law will be justified. For when the Gentiles who do not have the law by nature observe the prescriptions of the law, they are a law for themselves even though they do not have the law. They show that the demands of the law are written in their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even defend them on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge people's hidden works through Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:13-16) For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 1257-1261: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2.shtml#art1 With love in Christ.
  • All you need to know about Jesus pbuh is that he was a great prophet. I would concentrate more on yourself if you want to get to Heaven.
  • you need a way to clean your sins, and Jesus is it, so it is somewhat necessary to accept him as your Savior to take your sins away(depends on your religion and what protestant)
  • No that's not true. The only thing you need to get into heaven is physical death of the body.
  • Heaven is for a very select number of people. The calling is done by God and for the rest of us, there is the promise to inherit the earth which I think is a pretty sweet deal.
  • Not only do you have to know Him, you have to have Him in your life.
