He's awesome! He's into Star Trek and Tolkien, was a stage actor and a gymnast, memorized tons of poetry, retired from the NYPD, and used to go to the Rocky Horror Picture Show dressed as Riff Raff. I wish I could find him... we were so close.

That he has always encouraged my brothers and myself to be kind and patient and to not turn our back on anyone including animals. He has always shown compassion to others and would defend me when I brought home strays. When he was a teen (1938 or 39) he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp and it probably saved his and his parents and siblings from starvation, but he still feels guilty for leaving his mom because he was so hungry. He and his brother enlisted at the same time during WWII. My dad still weeps for the little brother that never made it home.

Well my dad was killed in an oil field accident in 1985 at the age of 43! But the time on earth I spent with him my favorite thing about him was the TOTAL and TRUE love of his children. He loved each and every one of us unconditionally. And not only told us, but showed us each day as well. He was a special person and I miss him every single day of my life!!!
