The first thing I thought of would be to burn someone, on any part of the body. I know it hurts like heck only if I get a small burn.

I would say having your arms stretched out of their sockets and your joints being snapped apart. Then being thrown into a tub full of boiling water, and finally being thrown into a burning fire after having your genitals smashed by a hammer, and burning until you die.

One-way trip to Guantanamo, Cuba to experience some CIA-style "questioning techniques" and waterboarding. My 2 cents.

Why do you want to encourage people to think about torture techniques?
-
Anything that lingers and begins with atrocious pain, but won't kill you first, like getting your nails or teeth torn out, extended by further torturing. I don't think I really need to name any, the human mind is imaginative enough. It's the methods of torturing which are significant, and making it last a long time and keeping your victim aware of pain. Keeping the person alive and not hurting them to the point of insanity, or at least, this is how I read the witch burning days to be about. They didn't just burn people. Some of it is nasty. Like this instrument that looked like a thick needle which was driven into the knee or below the knee or somewhere there, and once pierced, they released this clutch like thing that made the "needle" separate in three prongs, which basically exploded the knee cap. Ugh. Or getting one's head slowly crushed in a vice, slow enough that you're still alive when your eyes have long been damaged by pressure, or your teeth are driving themselves into each other...depending on what angle they put the vice on. Sometimes they stuck it over the top of the head and under the chin so you jaw would like, pop off eeeew. People were tortured, and when they passed out, they used smelling salts to waken them; so they could keep torturing them. :/

Loving someone deeply who doesn't love you back :(

Wow... what a fun question... Okay, imagine being strapped to a chair without being able to move. Your eyes are pinned open. In front of you is an old projection screen - and on it is a Fran Drescher marathon!!! You have a remote control in your hand, and the cruel man torturing you allows you to move one channel up or one channel down. Up is a fan-made, hand-held video recording of Kenny G Live at Shea Stadium circa 1997. One channel down is Fox News' coverage of the GOP convention. Every time you grumble you are shocked with 100 volts of electricity for 5 seconds. Now THAT'S the worst possible torture imaginable.

It's different for different people. For me: It's having your son paralyzed and brain damaged in an unjust war (Iraq) based on lies and perpetuated by greed for oil and money (Halliburton in which Cheney & Bush own an astronomical amount of stock in). That is torture that will not end for me until the day I die or for my son until the day he should die.

Chinese water torture.

I think that thing the catholics did was horrible. It was a cone shaped dilly bob, and they would lower their "heretics" down onto it, forcing it up their *ss....And it had a span of like a foot at the bottom, tearing their *ss apart, and then bleeding to death. Catholics had some of the worst torture devices ive ever seen.... What pleasure does God get out of torture. None. So why was it done... Who the hell knows...

Listening to rap music really loud for hours, I think I would tell them anything to make them stop.
