You shouldn't use water, but a mixture of water and anti-freeze or radiator coolant. If you look in the engine compartment you will see a plastic container with a screw-off cap - this is where you put the coolant. The other plastic bottle, with the snap-off cap is for windscreen washer water. You can see how full it is without removing the cap and there is a line showing the fill level. Don't remove the cap when the engine is hot and don't fill above the line.

Unscrew the black cap on the engine , directly on top of the engine and on the left. Open and pour water in. Then like you asked, the engine will definately have water in it.
