  • I know in the states it's nearly impossible to get a correct portion size. I'm all for having a hearty meal out, but does it have to come piled high on a giant platter? Wouldn't I enjoy it more if I had to savor it rather than shovel it? A 24 ounce steak is not a meal, it's meat for the week.
  • I am terrified of e-coli and I don't eat hamburger. The fact that you can get it from vegetables grown near where animals are raised freaks me out too. I see ads for this 1/3 lb. angus burger at McDonald's and the idea of that much meat makes me feel ill.
  • I got a Chinese lunch special from the take out on Tuesday, I ate it in 3 increments it was so huge. My co-workers either eat it in one sitting or eat the food and throw out half the rice. I try to practice portion control since I have gotten heavy.
  • I think we eat more these days!
  • People eat out so often now. It used to be a special occasion thing but now it's every week. And they don't seem to cook dinners for their family. Families rarely sit together and eat a meal. We always made time for meals together, even if my dad was home late. It was a priority. And we made real food, not things microwaved or in packages. It took time to make dinner and we often did it as a family. It was part of our family time together. Saturdays we would make breakfast together, something special. Maybe that is where I learned to love breakfast and make it a tradition with my husband that breakfast is our time together.
  • Soda has replaced water
  • People (a lot of them anyway) no longer eat FOOD, they eat over processed garbage that calls itself food. McDonald's is not food, neither is anything in your grocer's freezer (except for frozen vegetables) - I'm all for eating, but I want to put FOOD in my body, not paste.
  • Everyone is in a big hurry and they all eat out instead of cooking at home. Whatever happened to eating as a family?
  • I think as we get older our taste buds change. Which makes us hunger for something different every now and then.
  • Parents prefer giving their children money to buy whatever they want at school.. there is no pleasure to cook at home.. fast food is considered to be more easy as we just have to go and buy.. its ready made.. even we found that microwaves have revolutionized..
