Yes, it's a kids show. But I will tell you, almost anyone of my generation will probably agree, the original Blue's Clues was pretty sweet.

-
The "I Love Lucy" show I watched it as a kid, then as a mother with my daughter and now as a grandmother with my grandsons. It is a good clean show for the whole family to watch.
-
I have only seen reruns when I was a kid but I used to think Laugh In was hilarious, I think that was a show anyone could watch. Maybe I was not old enough to understand all the jokes but I thought it was very funny.

Nobody's mentioned the Cosby Show yet, that'd be pretty high on my list. Probably because I always watched it with my parents as a kid.
-
I've always been a fan of The Addams Family. Not exactly the mildest of the old "Family" shows, but a family show can only get so pleasant and non-threatening before it crosses the line into an essentially child-oriented affair.
-
My opinion, "The Rifleman". I know Lucas killed many people, but it was almost always as a last resort and in self-defense or to protect someone. And, almost every episode had a good moral lesson for Mark to learn, (and sometimes, Mark taught Lucas something, LoL)!

"Family Ties" was a really good one. Also "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." "The Cosby Show" is definitely up there. I don't know of any that are on now that would compete - "7th Heaven" is probably closest.

Little house on the Prairie. Mork and Mindy. Steven Speilberg’s Films. As you may be able to discern I have not watched TV for ten years now. Do not miss anything. Don’t read media, or watch news. Miss Nothing. The Wonder Years, and Malcolm in the Middle. Simpsons are a tad risqué. Tom and Jerry and the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan series were childhood staples.

Marcus Welby, M.D. Because no matter what horrible diease the victim faced, Dr. Welby always found a way to treat it! Basically, for a show in the 1970s, it really had its heart in the middle of the 50s. And unlike dozens of 'family' shows, it seemed to keep the seniors as entertained as the kids.
-
Flintstones or the Jetsons. Hanna-Barbera Productions had a nack for mixing some smart clean adult humor in their children's cartoon show that made them "fun from 6 to 60." or Star Trek: The Next Generation. I tell tell you how many now young adults have told me that they loved watching this show with their parents. While the show did sometimes touch on adult issues, it did so in a way that allow kids to have frank conversations with their parents about those subject and help them mature.

There have been many wholesome family shows, especially in times past. I'd say that they were the majority in times past. You could watch TV all night and day as a family. And that is what I remember as a kid. I was born in 1955 and moved to the USA in 1958. Been watching TV ever since. I remember TV going downhill in about the early 70s.

Almost any show from the 50's and 60's. Comedies, variety, drama, how-to shows, they were all wholesome entertainment. After that, the wheels began to fall off the television wagon. Not to say that there weren't good family shows up into the eighties but they were sparse. I no longer watch television. I see enough garbage when I drive past the local land fill. Just my opinion of course. :)
