I live in LA - we drive about as fast as we can on the freeways... (but I am very conscious about speed on surface streets... )
-
Some might call me lead foot; I am an over the limit driver!!!!!!
-
Between 5 to 7 miles over if I'm on the highway + 5
-
It depends where I'm driving... Highways, I speed a bit. On residential streets I try to drive the speed limit.
-
I'm a newbie driver so i stick to the exact speed lol i expect in time it will creep up, but going at 40 mph feels like G-force to me, skid time and i dont mean on the roads!!
-
In town I stick to the speed limit. On the Motorways I tend to have a rather heavy foot.
-
I'm more the 2 miles over kinda person. My husband is the 5-10 miles person of the family.
-
0-5 miles over.
-
Residential streets stick to the speed limit. Non-residential town roads about 10 km/h faster, and highways 20 km/h faster. Which is essentially going with the flow
-
I think every driver goes 5 to 10 miles over the posted speed limit. Just imagine what it would be like, if everyone did the exact speed limit, all the time. We would be a nation going nowhere. It would be like a train, without the track. Only one place, in America, that i would not speed. its the Natchez Trace Parkway from Tennessee to Mississippi. the speed limit is 45 mph and they mean it.
-
**Highway I drive 80. City I drive only 5 over. * my easy cruising speed with my firebird * I must add I know where most of the speed traps are and I never drive in the left 2 lanes unless I have to. Also, when coming up on a hill, always watch break lights of those just going over. Usually a great sign of radar.
-
Nope. Who does? Grandma? Everyone goes at least 2-3 above the limit.
-
I speed everywhere
-
No, around here that will get you mowed down.
-
Only on a 3-4 mile stretch on the way to brothers house that I know is always heavily and strictly enforced.
-
Since I only ride a bicycle it is generally hard to exceed the speed limit. However, I do run stop signs in quiet neighborhoods if I can see the cross traffic. My biggest problem is going fast enough on boulevards to keep from getting rear ended.
-
Humm.....you said be honest. Well I know I shouldn't, but sometimes I tell people I will be there at a certain time to pick them up and then I find myself running late so well...I find my foot gets a little heavy on the gas, and before I know it I'm over the speed limit! I usually am pretty careful most times though.
-
I don't drive my own car (too young). I once broke a speed limit without a car though. The sign said 5mph. I was running faster than that.
-
I never surpass a speedlimit. It is very hard to accelerate past 5mph on foot lol.
-
Oh yeah, once had a cop chasing me after I speeded through the town on my bicycle ;) Dont have a driver's license, though..
-
I usually do, actually, always have, but on occasion when I'm not paying attention it can wander about 4-5 mph over. I'm not perfect but I do try to abide by the speed limits.
-
Only on the NYS Thruway.
-
Unless I am running extremely late for something I am very strict about going the speed limit. Anyone whose ever ridden in a car while I was driving can attest to that.
-
Oh dear. I have to be honest? I almost never stick to the speed limit when I'm on the freeway. I do better in town, largely because there are always a lot of kids walking to school on my route to work. However, if there are no kids at large and if I don't see a police cruiser around, I speed in town too.
-
i generally do stick to the speed limit, but there is times where i did go over just because i was too angry to care but other than that i go the speed limit
-
Hey. I think we all are a little guilty of speeding and going over the speed limit, i have on more then one occassion, just simply because i was late for work or for classes. :)
-
In towns almost always, but not on motorways. I usually drive about 85mph in 70 limits, but I'll drive 30 in 30 limits
-
Heelllno yo...
-
When the speed limit is to my liking. ;) That said, I go *below* the speed limit when it's not to my liking, too. Curvy roads at 65 at night? no thanks. Empty road i know like the back of my hand, in good visibility? 55 is ridiculously low.
-
Ahahahahaha. No.
-
I do. My lisence is suspended, so if I HAVE to drive somewhere, I am worse than grandma obeying all laws.
-
Not on the highway. I do in residential areas though, since there are kids and pets running around.
-
Not really ... If you stick to the speed limit here in Venezuela, even school busses will honk on you to move, and 18-wheelers will pass you, even if you're in the fast lane
-
Not on highways but on city streets, I mostly do. Only because I would be more afraid of getting a ticket on city streets.
-
Next week I have TWO court dates for speeding. I'd say NO.
-
man, im so slow, they need to make a minimum speed limit! lol!
-
I must admit, I'm usually carefree of speed limits. That does not mean I'm racing through the streets. If limit is 50km, I'm usually at around 60. Not good, I know.
-
Nope. Been pulled over 3 times. Apparently third time was the charm and I wasn't able to charm the officer out of the ticket. I know this wasn't solicited but it is important: the hierarchy of slowness on the road: 10) Student driver in front of you in the merging lane 9) The generic cadillac/oldsmobile 8) Grandpa driving 7) Grandma driving 6) Grandpa driving on a Sunday 5) Grandpa driving with a hat on 4) Grandma driving on Sunday 3) Grandpa driving on a Sunday with a hat on 2) Drunk driver 1) Drunk grandpa
-
Always in school and residential zones or heavy traffic and public areas; Almost always in moderate or light traffic areas Sometimes on interstate freeways :-)
-
Rarely. I drive at whatever speed I feel is safe considering the conditions. Sometimes that is below the speed limit in high traffic / poor weather conditions but usually I'm speeding... Occasionally, my vehicles maximum speed hinders me.
-
Nope, I avg about five over most of the time.
-
No, I'm always running late and will speed to make it to wherever on time.
-
I live in California. Nobody drives the speed limit on the freeway.
-
Technically, I don't know. The stock speedometers on cars for use in America do not show your precise speed. They can be off by up to 5 MPH. . But to answer your question, yes I do (according to the speedometer). Especially on freeway/highway. If you go slower than the flow of traffic, you run a high risk of getting rear-ended. I do this less in residential, especially if I know that there is a stop sign coming up. Why speed up to stop?
-
I try my very best, but 1: speedometers can be off somewhat and 2: I sometimes let those butt heads that ride my bumper all the time cause me to increase my speed.
-
I've only ever had one speeding ticket. The fact that I was doing 110 mph may give you the impression that I had been lucky, but it's just that I'm normally more observant than I was that day.
-
Today I did and got tailgated for two miles(I need to deal with my inner rage)A few months ago I got a ticket for 22mph over and the fine was $190 which got lowered to $85 due to a letter I wrote to the magistrate.But....my insurance rate went up ALOT!It wasn't worth speeding at all.(or all the other things that can happen when driving like an idiot)
-
I usually try to stay less than 10 mph over plus I have a radar detector
-
I'm slow to learn new habits, so i never go over 55.
-
Normally, I will stick to about 5 miles over, except in town, when I'm much closer to the posted limit. HOWEVER, today, my wife and I were on the interstate, and as I entered, I got up to the speed of the other cars to merge in. I looked at my speedometer and was doing 80 - AND I WAS STILL passed by some. They must have been at the track watching the Indy-cars practicing!
-
I used to but now that gas is 3.60 I go 5-10 below.............
-
Most of the time I find myself doing like 3 or 4 kilometers over the limit...which isn't even enough to get booked for. With my luck, speeding is to risky.
-
Very rarely yo...
-
No. I speed. But I am not reckless about it, and I am mindful of not going so fast that I am a guarantee for a ticket.
-
Try to. Never really in a hurry to get anywhere which would make traveling over the prescribed speed limit necessary.
-
I'm a very law abiding feller. I'm almost never under the speed limit...

I almost always ride my Harley either right at the speed limit or a few mph below it ( if it's 70 ). The bike has a cruise control and I generally set it right at or slightly below the speed limit. WIth the cruise control, the adjustable backrest, the CD player and the road pegs for my feet, riding this bike is a real pleasure on a long trip. : ))
-
I cannot lie ! No ! I have a very heavy right foot and rarely drive the speed limit.
-
No... I don't drive at all...
-
Yes I do.We live in an area where the police are always looking for speeders.
-
Rarely.
-
Occationally, more so when the kids are in the car.
-
I just got back from a 500 mile trip into Iowa. Yes, I did. If fact I drove below it part of the time. Conservation of energy and money, don't ya know?
-
not really but i try
-
Sad to say, I only drive the limit or near when I notice there is a cop near by or strangely when I am driving in School Zones.
-
Yes, I do. Speeding tickets are getting expensive in this area.
-
Always have, always will. Can't afford the tickets or the increase in insurance premiums!
-
Rarely, I have a radar detector. One of the best investments I've ever made.
-
Nah. Hey, I don't need no stinkin' speed limits; I'm a professional.
-
Lol.... I do try, honest. But probably about half the time I find that I'm speeding.... even though I'm terrified of getting a speeding ticket, so that slows me down quite a bit and stops me from seriously speeding.
-
yep. can't afford to get a ticket. going to the air force next month and it'll delay everything.
-
I probably piss people off, i drive slower than the speed limit. I'm never in a hurry, i'm retired.
-
With soaring gas prices, I do now. Doing otherwise is extravant and foolish. In "the olden days", however, when I would regularly drive up to northern California to visit my son who used to live there, the main road was the 5...anyone familiar with it knows how very boring it is. I'd get up to 90-95..I used to be known as "lead-foot Rosie"! :) Happy Monday! :)
