  • assuming that it is coolant leaking from the reservoir, and also assuming that your reservoir doesn't have a hole or crack in it: you don't have enough anti-freeze (they should have called it anti-boil) in your coolant. the anti-freeze keeps the coolant solution from boiling and expanding too much. The recommended mixture is approximately 1/2 water 1/2 anti-freeze.
  • check the gasket on the cap, it may be cracked or damaged. Do you have ac in your car? It could be the condenswater from the tubes. Is it much water leaking out? Anyway, the pressure increase when you stop the engine, because of pistons stop and deliver heat to the cylinder, and temperature get higher!
  • you will probably find its the head gasket or core plugs or both it can be costly to repair.
