  • No, not at all, it takes a coward to killthemselves and others
  • No, they're just brainwashed by their nutty religious leaders.
  • They are brainwashed cowards. Brave are the men and women who fight to stop them.
  • Indeed. I myself strongly disagree with their idea of religious expression, but I would say it takes bravery to be a martyr for your beliefs regardless of what you believe.
  • Fuck yes. Or maybe just mentally disturbed. We operate under a series of illusions - if they're brainwashed, so are the US soldiers, and guess who has the greater firepower as a defence?
  • I may not believe what they believe but it does take courage to be a suicide bomber from their point of view. They aren't just doing it because they're sad because their girlfriend dumped them or anything. They are doing it for what they believe and to make what they feel is a difference for good. It doesn't mean it's right but in their minds, it is the right thing to do.
  • brave yes, stupid even more so. more like blind bravery or false hope. people are just looking for more effective ways to attack the enemy
  • Sometimes I think they are brain washed.
  • Brave. But their bravery is misplaced.
  • They are not brave, they are desperate. I assume the suicide bombers you speak of are Islamic fundamentalists. Islamic radicals/suicide bombers blow themselves up because they live in a polygamist society. In a polygamist society, alpha males, those with higher status and financial capacity, monopolize the females. This leaves beta males without mating options. The beta males are then convinced by Islamic doctrine that 72 virgin females will be awaiting to satisfy all of their sexual needs when they arrive, and being left with limited to no other mating options, they gladly blow themselves up out of sheer desperation to copulate. This ties into one of the fundamental aspects of western civilization that Islami fundamentalism abhors: Sexual permissiveness. This is because a liberal approach to sex would cripple the mechanism they use to manipulate the more primitive followers, thus the term "Infidels."
  • Anyone willing to die for their beliefs is courageous. Whether we agree with them or not, there is no denying their complete and total devotion for what they believe. If you call them a coward, ask yourself: Would you yourself put your life on the line in such a way if you honestly believed it would defend and promote your ideals?
  • We'll not necessarily. For one theyre brainwashed into beliving the exterpation of other living souls will land them an exclusive VIP pass to heaven or wherever they believe they will be heading. And secondly its not something that you volunteer for. In other words your woulndt just kill yourself because you wanted to. It takes an adamant masochist and some good manipulative skills to bring someone to that point.
  • no, they are just very sick individuals.
  • Brave: No Self Righteous: Yes
  • Well, it depends on your perspective. The Japanese thought their kamakaze pilots were very brave. It gets more complicated when the suicide bombers are attacking civilians. While most civilized society condemns them, there are large populations who view them as very brave.
  • No they are fucking daft!
  • oh yeah real brave ... so brave they used 2 intellectually impaired people and strapped bombs to them and their wheel chairs and sent them into a crowded market place and blew them up .... yeah real brave
  • Nope, just mislead to think the act they're about to perform is "just"
  • yes but for the wrong reason
  • Maybe in they're own minds. However to us they are the ultimate of cowards. I wonder if any of us would give our lives to support a cause near and dear to us?
  • Suicide bombers are not brave more like insane, commiting suicide is pointless. they are just sending themselves to hell.
  • Well, that's atleast one word someone could use to describe them- not one that I'd personally use, but it's still a word...
  • This is a loaded question: If you are talking about people who try to kill everyone around them and themselves with a home made bomb, well, no... They're cowards. During World War II, the Empire of Japan had some pilots in their navy and air force who flew the Mitsubishi Zero, a literal flying bomb! Before their missions, they would have a military funeral. The pilots' families would receive a severed body part (usually a finger or a toe) which would be buried or cremated at the loved ones' wishes. The mission was to fly the Zero into a strategic target. Were they brave? Their families thought so. They thought so. Sometimes the missions failed and the pilots would eject. For long afterwards, the survivors of the Zero missions would be so ashamed that they were failures.
  • Well, you would have to be either brave or foolish, or both - to die for something you believed in woudn't you?
  • i do not agree with suicide bombers but i dont know how people can call them cowards
  • Half brave, half crazy
  • In order to be brave you have to have free will. Suicide bombers are zombies, they are neither brave or cowardly, just stupid
  • No, they're just stupid.
  • No, it doesn't necessarily take bravery to do something. It takes bravery to be around afterward and deal with the backlash.
  • They are brainwashed by cowards who wouldn't dream of doing it themselves, they just sit back and get rich using fools to keep situations desperate so they can live the high life and to top it off they are adored and revered by even more fools.
  • Nope. They either aren't brave enough to face real life, or they're trying to get a reward.
  • Cowards. They kill innocent people.
  • One mans terroist is another mans hero. I think they are more mental than brave but their sponsor will tell them they are brave
  • Depends what you mean. Do they have courage? Yes. Are they admirable? No. Some have called them cowards. I can't fathom using that word for people who consciously and deliberately give their lives for a cause, albeit a bad one (obviously not bad in their own eyes). Those who send them are moral cowards in failing to find a way to target more directly military targets, rather than "soft" targets, and physical cowards in being willing to send others to do what they would not do themselves.
  • You're bound to get nationalist jargon from both sides: 1) No, they are cowardly terrorists who hate our freedoms. 2) Yes, they are freedom-fighters rebelling against the invaders. • I am sorry, but I fail to see the courage of blowing oneself up in the midst of innocent people. I call that fanaticism, not courage. So no, I do not consider them brave.
