No but I think I will see Transformers because it sound so stupid and right now I need a good laugh
-
I never have...but if it were a movie I really wanted to see, and no one would/could go with me, I would. I have no problem being alone in public.
-
Yeah, usually when it's a cheapo movie during the day time or something.
-
Far too often for a long time now!
-
I don't ever go to the movies at all. The seats make my butt hurt.
-
I usually do go to the movies on my own. I get to see what I want that way and don't have to deal with someone asking me what's going on or crunching popcorn in my ear. On the odd occasion I go with someone I tend to get a bit annoyed with them.
-
no. It's weird.
-
Sure, if there's something I want to see, I go see it. It's not like you can have this big long conversation in the theatre anyway. :-D
-
I have only ever been once on my own. That was to see King Kong.
-
yeah i do. if i want to see a movie and no one else wants to i go alone. the last movie i saw alone was saw 3.
-
I would, but I don't.
-
Yes, but I prefer to go with someone.
-
I haven't done it in years, but I used to do it all the time. I will do it if I "have to see that movie" feeling takes over....and my wife doesn't want to go.
-
only once just a few months ago.. it was a character building excercise for me, because i hate going anywhere alone. so i decided that it would be good for me to see a movie alone
-
Yes, I went to see Harry Potter by myself because nobody would go with me!
-
I have once.
-
Meh, I'll go alone if I have to. Obviously there are films that I'd prefer company for. I mean, let's face it, going to see a kids movie alone = creepy. I really hate the fact that people have this preconceived notion that if you go to the movies by yourself, you're a loser. What's the big deal, anyway?
-
Yes, I do a lot, because my husband and I each get to go and there is no babysitter involved then.
-
Yep. Because I'm single and I don't have any friends.
-
I do, but regret it if it's something really bad, because I hate not having someone there to make sarcastic remarks and laugh with.
-
Once, and that was more than enough!
-
I have in the past...Though i have not been to the movies in about a year. I am so willing to go by myself but prefer to go with others....
-
Yes, often.
-
Nope. I only go if I'm with someone. So I havent been in a while.
-
No ...I go with somebody :-)
-
no i couldnt go on my own
-
No i cant say that i ever have and i dont know why sometimes i fancy seeing something my hubby doesnt so i might just do that:-)
-
No...I would feel so...well alone. I would feel like such a loser. If none of my friends wanted to go, id go with family.
-
I went to a movie once by myself on a business trip. I felt weird. (no offense to those who regularly go solo). All of these people were coming in with a s/o...I was paranoid about what they were thinking of me.
-
no...... EMBARRASING
-
Sure if I have the day off during the week. I have been known to go see a early show by myself. The last time was to see Get Smart.
-
Yes, both as a customer and an employee.
-
Never done that. I don't even like eating in bloody McDonalds on my own. I always have to phone somebody.
-
yeah i go to the movie by myself i usually go in the morning and alot of the time im the only person there its great. i go with my friends at the weekends mostly
-
Rarely
-
Always. I live alone, so I go alone because then I can see what I want, when I want. Occasionally, I'll go with a friend if we've planned to get together for lunch, but mostly I go alone. Sometimes to the 10 pm showing.
-
Most of the time I go to matinees. So yes, I go alone often.
-
no ive not, but a lot of my friends do, mostly because we dont always wan to see the same film
-
I wish I had the guts to! I'd love to see certain films that my partner wouldnt.. so end up going with his mum instead...
-
Yes, I'm planning on seeing the movie Mamma Mia by myself tomorrow.
-
I've never done that. I go so rarely and nearly always with my husband.
-
Before I was married I did..I liked it.
-
Yes, especially when it's something I want to see but nobody else is interested.
-
haven't done that yet.
-
Yes. Going alone shouldn't stop you seeing a good film.
-
twice in my life...i enjoyed it but wouldn't do it on a fri or sat night..too pathetic
-
No, and now that I ponder it, I don't really know why:. 1. You can't visit with people you're with during the movie. 2. You're in the dark. 3. You're facing a giant screen, so you're not looking at other people. 4. You need to concentrate quietly for 2 hours. Now, explain to me why I would go with people to a movie? LOL
-
no, honestly i dont like being alone!! i dont think anyone would!!
-
No. I'd be far to embarrassed and paranoid an I'd think that other people would be whispering about me, thinking I was a loner :) That's my problem though, hey? I really respect people who go by themselves actually, and wish I had the guts to do it - There's so many films I'd love to see that my mates and boyfriend won't watch with me!
-
Yes. I like the ability to just shut everything out, so it's just me and the movie.
-
yeah i live near a cinema so go about once a week. about 40% of the time i go alone. i like it specially during the day when you have the whole screen to yourself, its great. the first time i did it i was 16 and felt weird about it, dont know why really guess at that age your more insecure of something. now i dont care what people think so its all good.
-
No, I have never gone to the movies alone. I usually take my granddaughter to all the kids movies though.
-
I did once whilst waiting for a friend in a foreign country - i got so embarassed that i left half way through. No great loss though, it had Ben Affleck in it.
-
I try not to, strangely I have "ethics" about when it's okay!! I have gone a couple of times by myself. I use to go visit my grandfather out of state, and would go alone because I didn't know anybody in that state, and he would pay just so I got out and did something though he didn't want to go. Another time I went by myself when we had bought tickets, the movie was almost out of theaters, and my wife was sick at the last minute. I wasn't going to miss the movie we'd been waiting for! These situations seemed okay to me. I feel uncomfortable going on my own. Anyways, I think of going to the movies as more of a "social" event. With theater prices the way they are I might just rent even if I did have friends to go with! The only reason I can justify going is when neither me nor my friends want people over at our place, or maybe if I'm super excited about a movie. If you think its silly that people worry about being made fun of for going by themselves, it happened to me! The time I went without my wife she made fun of me for going by myself for quite awhile after that. Good Question!! I wonder why it seems like such a big deal in this culture...who cares?
-
no because thinking about it-i guess i'm a coward and i guess i care too much how people see me sometimes. (and looking at the answer, i'm not alone on that lol ^^ ) it's funny, i WANT to go to the movies alone, more often than not. but i would feel lonely and out of place, like every one is watching me and thinking what a loser. maybe when i gather up the courage i will. or maybe i'll give this a shot-one time and see how it goes, step out of my comfort zone lol. BUT if it makes up for this-i love to do other things alone-shop, take walks, etc..things people sometimes see as an activity for two lol :]
-
I did many years ago, before Jim was in my life. I was comfortable by myself in these locations... Library Bookstore Cookware Store Grocery Store Movies (always only the first showing..never at night) Since I love to cook I never ate out alone. I was always home before dark wherever I went ( I have night vision problems so I don't drive at night)! :)
-
Yeah, all the time.
-
I have. My wife and I have different tastes, so she and I go to movies by ourselves sometimes.
-
Not normally , but I have and will IF there's something I want to see that my wife does not.
-
frequently. My taste in movies is pretty out there and I usually drive to a neighboring town for the art flicks and foreign films.... My friends don't care for these. I have a friend who won't go to movies with me because less than half an hour into 'The Usual Suspects" I leaned over and told him who Keizer Szoze was....
-
no. i'm not into it.
-
I go by myself often, I have Mondays off from work so I go when there is no crowd and all of my friends are at work. It does feel weird sometimes though.
-
no I never have

-

-
When i am out of town on business or something, keeps me out of trouble.
-
I used to. After I got divorced, I spent a lot of time alone. If I wanted to go see a movie, I went to a movie.
-
Yes, but only to the day shows and a movie that I can't hunt down anyone to see. I don't mind doing it, but I enjoy going with others more.
-
I went once by myself
-
Sometimes I do, but I prefer going with friends. It is nice to treat myself once in a while by doing what I want to do though.
-
yes, I like to watch movies in English and my friends only watch them in French....seing as I hate translations, I get snobby and go by myself ;) It's no worst than reading a book in the park or listening to music in your car.
-
Yeah I went to watch Team America World Police and was the only one in the theater. Its pretty amazing how unfunny a movie can be without friends.
-
Cant say I have!!! lol
-
Ive never been to the Cinema, only the movies. (sorry, i know that was a smart ass thing to say, i didn't take my medication today, forgive me)?
-
Yes I have and its no fun at all.
-
Pfff... Many times, way too many times, I kinda like it alone.
-
no way
-
Yeah I have. I don't understand people who won't do it, you are in a dark room and you are not suppose to talk. So why not go alone.
-
Sure. I wanted to see the movie and my wife didn't.
-
Nope,,,,, If I'm Alone I rent a Movie and stay at home,,,Way More comfortable;)!!
-
only once, to see Passion of the Christ
-
I've never gone to the movies alone, but I've occasionally gone shopping or to concerts on my own. While I can enjoy the latter two activities by myself, going to the movies laone isn't very much fun because there's no one to laugh with me.
-
Yes, I think twice or thrice.
-
Dozens of times. I went to the matinees often when I worked nights
-
yep
-
A few times. To see Episode 2: Attack of the Clones, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, and Beyond the Sea.
-
Nope
-
I tend to not go away where alone.
-
Once, when I was on a business trip. I felt like a dork before the movie started and people were filing in to the theatre and looking at me like I was a loner. But once the movie started I didn't care. (It was Team America and I almost died laughing)
-
I've never been to a theater:)
-
Yes...more often then with someone, actually.
-
i did it once in the movie twilight! and it felt really bad...espeacially when there's a couple making out just in the row behind you! LOL i sound dessperate, which btw im not...but it did happen!;'(
-
Hell yes! I love to go to the movies alone. Unfortunately these days I rarely get to. Now I'm usually with my kids, or my boyfriend. or both.
-
only one time when my crazy ex gf was acting like a pscyho and i wanted to go somewhere i would never be found. plus i HAD to see borat... so it turned out ok.
-
Nope.
-
Well, only one can fit in the booth! ;-)
-
I very seldom go to the movies ... haven't been to one in over a year .... I have over 1,800 DVDs and about a 1/3 of them have not been opened or watched ... so I don't waste money on movies ... However; I will be going ALONE to see this new movie from the amkers of Borat ...
-
Never have and dont think I ever coud
-
Yep. Often when on a trip. My wife sort of frowns on me having too much fun on my own & out of town.
