  • Not so much. In my school for example we had a three-course meal and then a disco to follow. The same dress, hype and arrivals but not so much only focussed on the dancing but upon ending our time at school with friends and teachers.
  • At UK schools there are usually 'prom' style events (sometimes but not always named proms) for students at the end of their compulsory education (at 16) and also for students at the end of their further education (at 18). I'm not sure how this equates to the US education system as I know it differs, but yes there are proms. I expect there are quite a few differences between the UK and US style of proms, though.
